70 years and half a trillion dollars later: what has the UN achieved?

It was Dag Hammarskjöld, the tragic third UN secretary general, who had it best. The United Nations, he said, “was created not to lead mankind to heaven but to save humanity from hell”.

The kind of hell Hammarskjöld had in mind was not hard to imagine in the wake of world war and Hitler’s extermination camps, and with the atom bomb’s shadow spreading across the globe.

It is a shame that the muslims were not successful in their attempts to blow it up.

The UN has yet to produce one peace treaty. Ceasefires, yes, but treaties, no.

    • Alain

Few of those ceasefires were actually ceasefires.

70 years, half a trillion dollars, thousands of resolutions against Israel, thousands of kids raped by “peacekeepers”, yes where would we be without the UN.

this might surprise you , all the UN camps in lebanon and Jordon charge a weekly rent to the refugees to live in their tents [ facts not opinions ]

What has the UN produced since its beginnings? SWEET FUCK ALL.

The UN has given me much mirth.
From the members of their committee on human rights.
To their envoys coming to Canada to lecture us on our human rights record.
And who can forget the peacekeepers?
A real peacekeeper is not someone in a blue helmet who will watch sternly as slaughter happens all around them.
A peacekeeper is someone who stops widows from being burnt alive on her husbands funeral pyre with the real threat of burning the burners.

The Roman army were probably the most successful peacekeepers in history.

When I was a student at the Canadian Forces Staff School in the early ’90’s I wrote paper saying that UN peace keeping was a total waste of time, money and effort. I have a brief synopsis of every UN peacekeeping operation and what had happened in those countries when they ended. to conclude that the peace keeping effort really hadn’t solved anything. Needless to say, this wasn’t a popular opinion.

    What Has The UN Achieved?

The successful theft of Half A Trillion Dollars from us. That is a success for socialism.

  • DMB

The UN ultimate goal is to bring in a one world socialist government with Agenda 21 as its manifesto. World War I achieved the league of nations while World War 2 brought in the united nations. It will take a third world war to bring a one world government and since most nations are not free and democratic neither will this new form of government enslavement that the global elite want to bring upon us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMj6BQ00BbM

Back in the 80’s I was on the Israeli – Lebanon border. UN SUV’s were stopping on the Lebanese side and the UN “peacekeepers” were walking across the border and climbing into vehicles parked on the Israeli side. When I asked the tour guide why they didn’t simply drive across the border he told me that the “Peacekeepers” were caught smuggling weapons for terrorists in their UN vehicles so the new arrangement was that they walk across the border.

Back in the 80’s I was on a tour of the Israeli north. We stopped along the Mediterranean coast at the northern most part of Israel – called Rosh Hanikra to visit the grottoes. (I found that seeing the coastal railway tracks from the British era that ended there with the rails cut and bent to indicate the state of war with Lebanon more interesting).

Anyway back to my point about the UN….I watched UN vehicles stopping on the Lebanese side of the border and UN personnel having to walk across the border to climb in identical UN vehicles on the Israeli side of the border. I asked what that was all about and was told that the Israeli authorities caught UN personnel smuggling arms for Arab terrorists in UN vehicles and as such had to prohibit UN vehicles crossing the border to stem the arms smuggling.

IMHO the low points of the UN were the “Zionism is Racism” resolution and allowing Arafat to address the UN General Assembly wearing a pistol.

The UN are in love with the Palestinians (the world seems to love the perpetual victimhood) – Ron Prosor the Israeli ambassador said it best – “The Assembly would pass a motion that the earth was flat if the Palestinians proposed it”.
