‘Just not ready’ Trudeau ad may be getting to voters, poll suggests #elxn42

A Conservative Party campaign ad that asserts Justin Trudeau is “just not ready” to be prime minister has been running on television and the web for months now, and according to a Forum Research poll, the idea may be sticking.

According to the poll, nearly half of the 1,384 people surveyed, 47 per cent, believe he’s not ready for the job, while 39 per cent believe that he is.

Start doing to him what the press and assorted talking heads are doing unsuccessfully with Trump.
Don’t say anything good or bad, just keep commenting on how “entertaining” he is.
If backfiring with Trump, but should stick to Justin.

The more Trump is denounced, the better his polls, but dear Justin will not have that luxury, because he is the establishment man.

    • Justin St.Denis

I ALWAYS laugh when the subject of Justin Trudeau comes up. I usually have a recent quote to use to justify my derision. If the convo continues along the same line, I keep chuckling or even giggling now and then. It really pisses off people planning on voting for him.

  • Exile1981

A local young man (25) commented on how he has never voted before but he’s voting this time and it will be for turdeau. When the wife asked him why he said it was because he will legalize pot. I suspect that most of his supporters are also young on welfare and looking to get high. We can hope they are too stoned to vote come election day.

    • dance…dancetotheradio

Explain to this slacker that Canada is a signatory to the UN treaty of controlled substances and that by legalizing pot Trudeau will be breaking that ‘law’.
Also, if your whole reason for voting is a single issue of such trivial importance then maybe you shouldn’t vote.
It’s like voting for the Free Pizza On Fridays Party, never mind that they also want to kill all the Joos, I just want free pizza on Friday.

      • Exile1981

The wife told him we were voting conservative because we don’t want to grow the economy and have jobs. He suggested that we could always go on welfare like him if we lost our jobs.

        • I maintain that people should be actively discouraged from voting. The ones who don’t know enough to care enough to get it done should stay out of the booth.

“public affairs vex no man.” – Samuel Johnson

Obviously it’s not entirely true, that nobody really cares about politics, but it’s closer to the truth than pretending that most people know or care anything much about issues which don’t affect them personally and immediately. Voting per se is not a virtuous or a civic minded thing. It doesn’t honour the memory of dead soldiers when some idiot who doesn’t know what’s going on gets dragged to the ballot box.

Elections are my Grey Cup, my Stanley Cup, my Super Bowl and any other sports championship combined and distilled into one enervating night.
I’ve been on the good end and I’ve been on the chitty end and it matters.
When people who play video games for very nearly a living tell me they don’t care about politics I say thank Christ for that because I don’t want them voting anyway.

          • Justin St.Denis

Excellent! What a great perspective on the vexing issue of “mandatory voting”. That clears THAT up quite nicely, thank you very much, Mamba!

This is the tenth comment on this blogpost, but, I am the first to bother to mention that you probably posted the wrong link, Fur.

Mee finks it dissss link you want, yeah…..

    You’re welcome, busy guy.
You sure are labouring on this Labour Day weekend, eh?
I guess you really are anti-union. Get it?

As a Toronto Star home-subscriber/critic I love to notice the ‘difference’ between the Star’s print/online article titles and sub-headings……..

    Online article….

“”” Justin Trudeau ‘Just not ready’ ad was effective: Poll
But the results weren’t all rosy for Conservative leader Stephen Harper, either. “””

    Print article……

    “”” Star Exclusive
Trudeau attack ads are working, poll finds
Tories successful in running down his abilities, but still room for surprises “””

‘still room for surprises’ … haha…..

The online edition ends with a slight to the Conservatives, and the print edition ends with a positive for the Liberals.
Different wording, but the same message for this, ahem, ‘Star Exclusive’.

    Sorry for the poorly-lit photo.
It’s late, and it’s Labour Day weekend, and I appreciate Labour Day like most Canadians do.
(Translation: I’ve had a few beers, and my burps taste like burgers, yes.)

WARNING, the media is in full anti-Harper mode this Sunday morning. And among the non-stop anti-Harper coverage are these stories. 1. Calgary mayor is afraid he will be deported by that evil Harper. Yes the Christmas hating muslim mayor is in full islamic rant against Chris Alexander. 2. The CBC and the rest of the leftist media is upset that Israel won’t take Syrian refugees. Because it makes perfect sense to leftists that Israel takes in muslims from a country that it has been at war with and hates its guts. 3. A rant from Margaret Atwood on the National Post website proves that leftists can say anything they want and get away with it. She rants that Harper prefers dead Canadian soldiers rather than live ones, and that Canadians love the CBC. 4. The memorial service for the dead Syrian child had a Syrian flag on display during the service, as a muslim cleric demanded more muslims to come over as refugees. 5. Oh, and Harper is evil.

I had a good laugh the other day at one of those outdoor farmer’s markets.

The vendor was describing some unripe food as being like Trudeau, “Just not ready yet”.

    This message must be sticking.

    • Maurixio Garciasanchez

What is Maurixio saying with this post? We need a Google translator, from Maurixio-speak into English.

        • David Murrell

…and the OPP Police union is bribing Wynne for higher pay raises. Admittedly, it is difficult to keep track of the bribes these days.
