Italy PM says Europe ‘cannot just get emotional’ about migrants

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said on Thursday Europe could not just limit itself to an emotional reaction to pictures of asylum-seekers dying, but had to act.

“Europe cannot just get emotional,” Renzi said in a press conference with Maltese counterpart Joseph Muscat, after a photograph of a toddler’s lifeless body washed ashore on a Turkish beach shocked the continent.

“Faced with these images which tear and move the hearts of every father, we must be aware that we need a global strategy and Europe cannot lose face”, he said.

  • These poor little kids will be wedge issues.

The Italian prime minister is right. If people aren’t going to get worked up about the endangered Christians, getting worked up over unassimiable Islamists is just counter-productive,

It needs to be pointed out clearly and often that that toddler died not because of Europe, but because his parents were greedy grossly negligent invaders.

They were safe in Turkey, but chose to make a run for the biggest welfare cheque too.

I only feel sorry for the children.

When I look at photos like that kid laying face down on the beach
or a child who’s been blown to bits by a terrorist bomb I can only think
that I’m looking at the corpse of someone who could have been the person
    who changes things.

What a horribly sexist thing for the Italian PM to say.

Notice we’re not hearing a peep out of the UN about this unfolding catastrophe? Contrast this with the speeches, committees and resolutions concerning the non-existent global warming ‘crisis’ that has not claimed a single life. That’s because there’s no money to be made by the blood-sucking members of the general assembly from the refugee crisis.

“…Europe cannot lose face”, he said.
Italian psyche fixated on “bella figura” isn’t a sound basis for policy.

Europeans should be emotional about their survival.
