ISIS Kill Two Senior Iraqi Army Commanders

BAGHDAD—Islamic State claimed it had killed two senior Iraqi army commanders Thursday, continuing the extremist group’s tactic of targeting military leaders to deplete morale among fighters.

The militants took responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on official Twitter accounts and distributed by the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors global jihadist activity, and said it was in retaliation for the killing of one of its own officials.
