Trudeau can’t define middle class

TORONTO – Justin Trudeau wants to grow Canada’s middle class, but he can’t define it.

During a campaign stop in Scarborough on Tuesday with former prime minister Paul Martin, Trudeau dodged a request for his definition.

“I’m going to let economists, and I have a few around me, argue over which quintile or decile the middle class begins or ends in,” Trudeau said after unveiling the Liberal candidates he would rely on for economic advice if elected to form the next government. “We’ve made our policies very clear. We think it is a mistake for Mr. (Stephen) Harper to continually send child-benefit cheques to families of people making over $200,000 a year. Instead, we’ve chosen to give more generous benefit cheques to every family making $150,000 a year or less.

Well, I don’t know about y’all, but I find it highly amusing to hear the Trust Fund Kid blather on about the middle class.

I was almost impressed to hear him use terms like “quintile” and “decile” until I pinched myself and remembered that he is reading from a carefully prepared script.

The comedy sort of makes you wish the election could go on forever, doesn’t it?

I figure anyone who needs paul martin to stump for them is grasping at straws.

I am worried he will form a coalition with Mulcair in exchange for something shiny. But ialso think his ego would keep him from accepting deputy pm to PM Mulcair.

I guess people are so mesmerized by the hair and the long-lashed peepers that they don’t notice the ironies and the contradictions. Wasn’t he saying today that Harper is “old and tired”? If Gooddale and Martin, both of whom have a few decades on Harper, aren’t “old and tired”, who is?

Right and he shows about the same amount of respect for the middle class as did his old man. Disgusting immature and spoiled man totally lacking in principles.

He’s still using that quintile and decile line?
Or is that an old quote?

By the way, I’m no statistician but I play one on the radio, sending those cheques to everyone is the definition of fairness.
    And totally indiscriminate.
Justin is advocating a means test to determine who would receive those benefits.
I thought Liberals opposed means tests.

    • Clausewitz

He’s like John Kerry, he opposed those means test until he didn’t. we all know how much of a Mensa candidate Kerry is, but the shiny pony is still three standard deviations on the IQ scale behind big slow Lurch.

He doesn’t want to admit that the Middle Class between the poor and filthy rich are the Public Sector Employees or workers at crown Corporations.

Trudeau is an idiot, but I couldn’t answer that question either. I’m pretty sure there is no definition of “middle class”. For a start class is about a lot more than just money.

Trudeau: “I am going to let the economists, and I have a few around me…”.

Two or three days ago Justin had a news conference with his “economic advisory panel”. The bootlicking from CBC News, CTN News, the Globe and Mail, and other was astounding.
