Murdered by the Taliban aged 9 because his uncle was a translator for British Army

The nine-year-old nephew of a former Afghan translator was executed by the Taliban in retaliation for the man’s work for British forces.

After snatching the boy in the street, the Islamist group forced his father to decide between losing his son and handing over his interpreter brother.

Two weeks later the boy, named Haroon, was shot in the head. His body was dumped in a ditch beside a road near his home.
