Donald Trump says he would scare Pope Francis over capitalism views: ‘ISIS wants to get you’

It’s common for some to criticize Pope Francis’s wariness about capitalism, but Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump just took that to a new level, saying he’d try to “scare” the pope by telling him: “ISIS wants to get you.”

The comment came when CNN’s Chris Cuomo presented Trump with a hypothetical situation during an interview Wednesday. What if, Cuomo said, Trump met the pope, and — through a translator — the pope expressed a belief that capitalism can be “a real avenue to greed, it can be really toxic and corrupt.” How would Trump respond, Cuomo asked.

This ‘bourbon of unknown provenance’ just keeps getting better and better.

All Trump needs to do is send Anti Pope Francis to Venezuela and hopefully he will like it there so much he will retire.

Trump is scheduled to address the public tonight at a football stadium in Alabama. The last I heard, all 40,000 seats have been taken and there is a clamor for overflow seating.

Establishment GOP: “That’s impossible! Nobody I know likes that man!”

      Hope and change!

    Trump is a Presbyterian. Excellent!

As far as I am concerned, this useless Pope, may as well join the annual Hajji.

He doesn’t appear to be much of a Catholic.

Donald Trump may be ham-handed and he may be coarse and unrefined.

    But he’s g*ddamned RIGHT.

    • moraywatson

Don’t believe the coarse and unrefined characterizations. I watched Trump’s “town hall” the other night, and he had the crowd enraptured. He spoke without any notes. He interacted with the audience and used their shout outs as seamless segues to new topics. He is a masterful speaker and motivator.

      • Miss Trixie

Thanks, I’ll look for that to watch. Millions of good people are hungry to hear a good man speak from the heart (sans the use of notes or a speechwriter), without droning on about feelings and politically-correct talking points. A man that loves America with all his heart is captivating and refreshing.

        And Presidential. 😀

        link? please.

      • Clausewitz

He talks without notes because contrary to the other politico’s he believes what he says so he doesn’t have to keep his lies straight.

  • moraywatson

This is totally misleading, as usual. Trump wouldn’t be “threatening” the pope by saying “ISIS is out to get you”. “Threaten” was Cuomo’s word. ISIS is the THREAT, Trump would just be conveying the TRUTH about ISIS. But again, to all the POLITICALLY CORRECT LEMMINGS the TRUTH is no longer a valuable commodity.

    • ISIS was threatening Pope Francis, not Trump.

Should Pope Francis met with Trump, he will survive.

      Not so much with ISIS.

I guess it would be considered rude to inform the pope about reality, but somebody has to do it.

  • Pope Francis repeated the words of Saint Paul by saying he who does not work does not eat.

Selective reporting from the popular press.

  • Edubeat

The Pope’s much higher connections ‘trump the donald’s’ everytime

    • Clausewitz

You are of course under the mistaken view that he’s more worried about Catholic Religious beliefs as opposed to being a Social Justice Warrior. Apparently he wants to enter the US by crossing the Mexican border to show how much he is in solidarity with the illegal alien hordes of Mexico and Latin America.

      • Edubeat

Dude. if you are a practising Catholic like me….the Pope gets his marching orders from a heavenly policy director known as the Holy Spirit (not the PeelDSB’s/FatBri’s PR office)

    • From the point of view of the Orthodoxy, the Pope is just the Bishop of Rome with no direct line to God. Adopting such a view would save the Catholics from following the Marxist, who currently occupies the Holy See.

      • Edubeat

Wrong. The Magesterium rules Catholic orthodoxy (recall our greatest Pope John Paul II’s encyclicals on liberation theology) not any other way.

  • Alain

As a side but important issue the leftist idea that capitalism leads to greed is another marxist lie. Greed is indeed a human vice or sin if you like which exists every bit as much, if not more, outside of capitalism. In fully communist societies there are plenty who harbour greed for both power and wealth, and they are present in the ruling class/group. The same applies to totalitarian regimes and dictatorships, and may I point out in every Muslim terrorist organisation. In the latter the greed also extends to claiming the right to have sex with their victims and lessers. The vice of greed is not new nor a product of capitalism.

Hypothetical questions like this are silly.

Does the pope really tell POTUS that money is the root of all evil?

If so then I guess trump is right.
