Electricity exports cost Ontario taxpayers $200 million in June #elxn42

TORONTO – Electricity watchdog Parker Gallant keeps a wary eye on energy prices in this province.

In a recent post on the website www.windconcerns.ca, Gallant points out the government paid $200 million in June to dump electricity at a loss.

Gallant, vice-president of Wind Concerns, estimates 1.9 terawatts (TWh) of Ontario’s electricity production (15.2% of Ontario’s demand of 10.6 TWh) was exported to Michigan, New York and Quebec, in June.

How much did the wind turbines save?

Thousands and thousands of insects from being eaten by dead birds.

How do you f*ck up electrical exports to the States?
Seriously, how is that even possible?
Even Mexico manages to make that one work!

    • mauser 98

staggering criminal incompetent government , apathetic lazy stupid voters ..thats how ..

      • Drunk_by_Noon

But we are paying top dollar, spot-market rates.
Honestly, it’s the most expensive means of obtaining electrical power, and likely way more than any Canadain customer ever paid for Canadain power.
It’s like selling your neighbor a glass of water, who buys lots of glasses of water every month from you, for a dollar each and then somehow that’s not profitable.
That’s Venezuelan level incompetence and mismanagement.

          yes sir.. it is
and Bammy is going to shut down US coal powered electricity based on global warming scam
          happened here

    • Alain

That because Mexico is not Ontario.

    • Millie_Woods

Reminiscent of when Venezuela donated fuel to the US a few years ago. Because that’s what socialists do (just before Tampax and Corn Flakes sell for $85 a box).

      • Drunk_by_Noon

That was just a PR play to embarrass George W. Bush after Hurricane Katrina, it’s not as if we needed it, or people in New Orleans were freezing.

        • Millie_Woods

And this is just to show the people of Ontario how insignificant their lives are to a jar-licking, bull dyke, power-drunk socialist skank. I hope I live long enough to see her travel to Cuba for cancer treatment.

            “jar-licking” … i like that one

Hey, this is Ontario. Its only money. We have to start planning for the Olympics in Toronto.

Yet taxpayers keep paying this idiots’ wages and paying all the corrupt people she has in the Provincial parliament .I thought with democracy you vote for people that are supposed to make the province better not run it into the ground? I think the slogan waste not want not has ever entered our first openly Premier of Ontario’s head. You have to wonder where her mind is most of the time. I don’t think it is on improving Ontario. Shame on our government

Hit me hit me one more time. I was ecstatic that my Kathleen Wynn electricity bill was $192. my sisters in Quebec was $20. For one month. Cheap. In the summer with one little air conditioner. Winter will bring $500_700/more, don’t know how I could possibly pay it. I have but I am always behind. How could I ever catch up? TheWynne gov sells OUR ELECTRICITY to New York State at a loss and charges poor little me a rate I can’t possibly pay. I think Kathleen Wynn and and Justin Trudea make the perfect pair. Trudeau has said the deficit will take care of itself. So I have nothing to worry about other than being thrown out of my house, right? I am middle class and I have never in 45 years not paid a bill. I resent millionaires telling me who the middle class is when the only middle class Trudeau has ever met is the one who changes the tires of the million dollar car Pierre Elliot Trudeau left him. Katleen Wynn, worked in government so long she doesn’t know what a bill is.

    • Millie_Woods

Best of luck Petrilla. Until things get better, here’s something to keep your spirits up.

Become a refugee and live off welfare. I wish I could say things will get better… but I can’t. I want to. But when Ontario elected Wynne with a majority government… all bets are off.
