Suicide Attacks Shake Kabul, Killing Dozens

KABUL, Afghanistan — A barrage of deadly suicide attacks killed at least 40 people and wounded hundreds more in Kabul on Friday, ending a two-month-long lull in major terrorist strikes in the capital, according to Afghan officials. It was the deadliest day in Kabul so far this year.

After two earlier waves of attacks, a third large explosion went off late at night as insurgents attacked the District 15 Police Headquarters in the Qasaba area of the capital. Fighting was still ongoing and there were no immediate updates on casualties.
