Here’s the proof a NYC high school diploma is worthless

State officials uncovered astonishing evidence that city high school diplomas are worthless — a Manhattan classroom of 11th-graders reading “The Three Little Pigs,” The Post has learned.

  • truthdareisay

and they will grow up to vote Democrat..

  • Clausewitz

The Left has been pushing Common Core for more than 20 years. This is their end result, a bunch of brain dead, illiterate, sheeple who will votes for Democrats because they bribe them with their own money after taking their cut of the Vig.

      Jeb is for Common Core

      • Clausewitz

Jeb’s an empty suit and an ass.

The post has two other articles on schools in NY. One is about the school raising kids marks so they can graduate and the other is about “extra credit” work sheets to allow kids to graduate that were failing. The work sheets that none of the 150 kids could remember doing.

      • Clausewitz

One guess on the ethnicity of those 150 students. Looks like the work of the Sisterhood once more.

  • Alex

They should have them do a paint-by-number Three Little Piggies: that would really test their skills.

    • Raymond Cameron

They don’t teach them numbers before college.

Toronto is no different , this is why I feel sorry for Corporation forced to hire these types under Diversity and Equity plan.
National Companies based in Toronto have to meet Local % quota’s for gays, blacks, and muslims . So when the STATS Can Census shows a white population of 83% and heterosexual population of over 94% , it’s insane to stay in Toronto to run your business when you want your market to reach the consumer base of at least 90% of the population .
Toronto is NOT Canada, but somehow you must project the image that 30% of the employees are non -whites, 20% are gay , 5% are refugees, 15% non-citizen immigrants, 15 % muslims and so on .

My prediction for Ontario and Toronto is that businesses will flee from the high taxers and power bills along with employment laws to force them to hire people with fake Diplomas where they find out later the person is at a grade 7 level for reading and math or writing, then Toronto will go the way of Detroit for crimes and going bankrupt on top of Head Offices with 80% of the staff from about 15% of the population where English or French will NOT be the first language of business.

Sorry folks, but Canada became strong and wealthy because of the People that made it that way, but Liberals played minorities like ignorant peons and told them that there will always be lots of money and safe Cities with FREE health care for all including any relative you want to bring here and bilk welfare.
But when the majority become TAKERS and bring their gun cultures or drugs with them , the hard working white Christians no longer around to mock or pay the bills will mean that Toronto will be just another hell-hole ghetto City thanks to Joe Mihevc’s recent announcement that the 300,000 illegals can get welfare as Toronto is now a Sanctuary City for any of the 7,000,000,000 people outside of Canada that can get here for all the social services.

Won’t be long before illegals start murdering our Citizens just as we see in San Fan and Texas.
Thanks Uncle Joe , just keep gorging at the public trough and force CUPE worker to commit treason to give tax dollars to tourists or criminals illegally in Canada no entitled to them.
Can’t wait until Wynne and Mihevc get cuffed and carted away by the RCMP for theft of the CRA dollars for their tax-fraud scheme to steal money from Citizens and give it to illegals.
Stock up on the soap-on -a -rope Joe .

I read it last school year to my grandaughter (les trois petites cochons) at seven years. She’s in French immersion. She even got some finger puppets to act it out. I thought one puppet looked like Trudeau 2.0

While I must agree that public school language education has been deteriorating for years, I would also like to underline that very literate children come from homes where reading is seen as a positive activity to be enjoyed, shared and remembered. I attribute much of my success to being raised by two voracious readers who encouraged all thei children to read.

Only some education happens within the confines of a school. Most education happens at home – if parents are even fleetingly aware of their responsibilities.

    • Surele Surele

According to Adam Swift, philosopher and professor at the University of Warwick in England, parents who read to their kids should be thinking about how they’re “unfairly disadvantaging other people’s children” by doing so.

What to do? What to do? Read or not to read? OMG! What I have done!!!
I have read to my kids, and now they read to their children. Mea culpa.

Philosophy, what you get when you just can’t bullshit your way through a Sociology degree.

        • BillyHW

Real, classical philosophy is actually a legitimate field and requires intelligence. But there’s a a lot of new age fakes out there for sure.

          • Clausewitz

No problem with Profs of classical Philosophy, unfortunately I have standing at Mac U and see what passes for a Philosophy Prof these days at the faculty lounge. Most of these Pinrods should be lecturing in courses that have the word Studies in their course description.

Thank you for reminding me of that. A perfect fit for this thread.

      • Why can’t we all be stupid?!

        (sarcasm function disabled)

        • Raymond Cameron

We did not go to school long enough…

          • I imagine if they did go to school longer, New York students would have read the the thrilling tome, “The Little Engine That Could”.

      • Justin St.Denis

      • Justin St.Denis

Wow. One simply cannot make this shit up. Only circuitous and pretzel-like progressive minds can swallow this bullshit wholesale. Oh, and the stupid. The stupid are with us always.

    • It’s true.

When I taught ESL, I noticed that parents who read to their kids and encouraged them to read did much better academically.

It’s quite simple, really. I have no idea why people just refuse to do it.

      • Justin St.Denis

For sure! By the time I was 12, I had read every Edgar Rice Burroughs novel I could get my hands on. My TARZAN PERIOD (around 10 yrs old) remains memorable to me. I had also knocked off most of the adventure classics (Kidnapped, Tom Sawyer, The War Of The Worlds, etc.) well before finishing high school. And all because both my parents and older siblings were readers. And every one of us has passed that along to our own children. My sister actually wrote it down for us all after a long conversation with my parents. This is what they believed:

        – Learn to read and make reading enjoyable
        – Learn to write and make writing enjoyable
        – Learn to research and make research enjoyable
        – Learn to synthesize and encapsulate, and make earning money enjoyable

Where are Drunk by Noon and Norm? They may be in collusion.

    • Norman_In_New_York

I’m back. My question here is, how many of the students interpolated “motherfucker” into the text?

    • Drunk_by_Noon

I just rolled in from my math class.
No, Norm is not in my “Discrete Math” class either.
      I don’t think.

      • Minicapt

Is your ultimate sentence intended as a discrete thought?

  • The parents don’t read to kids at home and the teachers refuse to buck that trend.

Everyone, stock up on Gatorade and seed potatoes. The sh– is going to get real and one does not want to be in a major urban centre when it does.

It can be quite good if updated…
