Burning of Christian churches in Israel justified, far-Right Jewish leader says

The leader of a far-Right Israeli group has risked arrest by apparently voicing support for arson attacks on Christian churches amid an official crackdown on Jewish extremism.

Benzi Gopstein, the outspoken head of Lehava – which has drawn notoriety for its violent assaults on Jewish-Arab assimilation – made the remarks at a panel discussion for Jewish yeshiva students when asked by a fellow panelist if he believed burning down churches in Israel was justified.

    • Must be.

    • Minicapt

Perhaps he is in cahoots with “J Street” and the mainstream Jews of America.

    • Icebow

      Says it all.

Christians will forgive him and build a NEW Church.
But muslims will burn the Christians in the Church at the same time and NOT allow a new one to replace it .
This is how Islams peace get spreads when you murder everyone that is a threat to allah by not agreeing with the oppressive homophobic cult to worship the Moon God.

Good grief for a second there I though that guy in handcuffs was Tommy Mulcair. Oh well dream on.

Perhaps he has watched far too many Western movies where the only bad guys are those evil Christians who go around killing, blowing up non believers and committing just plain old terrorism. I cannot begin to count the number of otherwise good European and American police or detective series which portray some Christian church or cult as terrorists while totally ignoring the elephant in the room. In any case for anyone living in Israel there is no excuse for ignorance of who the real threat is, and it clearly is not the Christian minority.

You right 500 years when the came to this continent of America,Christians killed natives by millions, only for gold and force them to their religion.

Well Meir Kahane founded the JDL. He was a racist ? Can’t be since he was Jewish and everybody knows the JDL runs around only doing good deeds just like IRGUN and the Stern gang did.

    • zee

Kahane certainly wasn’t a racist and the Irgun and the LEHI chased the British out of Palestine which was a terrific thing.

Handcuffs may not be enough. He needs to be gagged.

  • Missionary efforts by Christians (non-Jewish or ex-Jewish) on Jews are scandalous. But of course, this does not justify burning churches or violence. There are civilized ways of stopping this spiritual aggression.

    • Blacksmith

If a person is strong in their faith I don’t see missionary conversion working in any civilized setting. This is not true in backwater areas that are uneducated and primitive however. Violence should NEVER be used to try and convert people to a religion. There is a history of Christians doing this in bygone centuries, I do not know of anywhere it is happening now.

      • The problem in Israel, as I heard, is that poor Jews, ignorant of Judaism, are promised financial and other material help and gradually taught Christianity, which is dishonestly presented to them as a form of Judaism. This is a lack of respect for Judaism and Jews.

        • Blacksmith

That is definitely not right. Certainly not the “Christian” way as I was taught.

          • Glad to hear that. That is also my personal experience.

I was raised Catholic, I do have some issues with the Catholic church and really don’t want to rehash those here. I used to be VERY open minded about religion. Never had any use for Satanism as it is inimical to life from what I have seen, l have evolved to intensely dislike the other Satanic death cult called Islam. I look at the Jewish people as a faith I can accept without qualm generally, sort of like the older brother to Christianity. They believe is the sanctity of life and many other things i believe in. I may be wrong and wind up in purgatory or hell but I think if your heart is true and just then all is well. Some decades ago I visited Israel and Jerusalem. Of course had to visit Bethlehem. I felt very welcome there and had no issues. This was in the early 80’s and the Palestainian thing wasn’t even on my radar. I would like to see it again with my new eyes and new knowledge.
