Harper on the offensive, slams Wynne and Notley

OTTAWA—Conservative leader Stephen Harper took shots at Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and newly-elected Alberta Premier Rachel Notley as he went on the offensive during the first full day of the 78-day election campaign.

Harper said Wynne’s plan to enhance pension savings through the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan is a tax grab that will imperil jobs in the province.

“The people of this country—certainly the small business community—are firmly against these taxes,” he said, noting the federal Liberals are committed to a similar increase in Canada Pension Plan (CPP) premiums.

It just one more Ponzi scheme by the Liberal that are bankrupt for any ideas to get out of debt and say NO to Public sector Unions aiding in turning Toronto and Ontario into a Detroit or Greece.

    • David Murrell

Maurixio, note that “federal government” is not capitalized. From junior high school English, only capitalize proper names.

  • BillyHW

Wynn and Notley are going to bring Canada down, and the Left will blame Harper for it.

  • kkruger71

Just from yesterday and today I get real sense that the Conservatives have a definite well scripted, timed-out game plan for this campaign, more so than ever before. I wonder how long before it gets to be overtly obvious when the media tries to break it.
Harper seems more confident than the last time around, and surprisingly fresh and eager. Not sure what got him so motivated but it really seems to be showing through. Will be curious to see if he can keep it up for the 11 weeks.

  • David Murrell

The Star article says that the Conservatives vetted everyone entering the room, giving them wristbands. This is a good idea, since if the Harper campaign shows any sort of life, one can bet the rich unions and radical student-nazis will start disrupting the Conservative events.

    • Brenda2600

Of course, they did not mention the protesters outside or the threats of bombs and violence, did they?

      • David Murrell

        Nope.
