Mulcair can’t keep dual citizenship

“…Mulcair applied for and became a citizen of France on his own accord, as an adult. His wife is from France, and by marrying her he became entitled to French citizenship. It was a perk, and totally optional.

He jumped through the bureaucratic hoops to obtain a new citizenship, which for France includes one to five years of uninterrupted residency, signing a contract to state you will “assimilate into French society,” completing civics training, attending information sessions on France’s public services and completing French exams.”

Must adhere to French civic values, eh? So we can consider it official that he wants to ban head coverings? And hates Israel?

    • Pretty much

    • David Murrell

Good point. Thomas Mulcair supports Shari law and the niqab, so one takes it that he opposes French (France) culure. Not that anyone csres.

  • Bernie

French Citizenship = Surrender . Guess he will surrender the Election to either Liberals or Conservatives. Either way, Canada wins.

They should add a stint in the Foreign Legion to the requirements.

    • Heh;)

Too bad the French long ago shut down the “Bats d’ Afrique”, a small military penal unit that “made use of” criminals, intentional and unintentional draft evaders, and naughty Legionaires who had pissed off their units once too often. A stint with them was called the closest thing there was to a real hell on earth.

I didn’t realize how much work went into becoming a French citizen, just not thinking I guess. So this guy really does want to be French and not Canadian. How long before he sells us out to France if given a chance?

  • mobuyus

He’ll still have to take four aspirins for a head-ache.

  • Maurixio Garcia Sanchez

Having 2 citizenships not a fraud so no big deal for him.
