The fall of Justin Trudeau

“…On Wednesday, even the European- based and non-partisan Reuters news service stuck the shiv in Trudeau with a long feature headlined, “Backers fear that missing-in- action, Trudeau losing bid to lead Canada”, describing him as “a former teacher and one-time snowboard instructor.” Ouch!”

It’s interesting to speculate whether the Liberal Party would be flushing itself down the toilet like this if they had picked Marc Garneau or someone, anyone, with a bit of substance to lead them.

    • mobuyus

No matter who they choose it’s the liberal backroom gang that stinks and will not allow anyone to be a leader.

      • They have been great at shooting themselves in the foot, we should not discourage that.

        • Clausewitz

In the words of Tsun Tsu, “Next get in the way of an enemy committing suicide”.

      • Martin B

I suspect you’re right, they’ve picked three rotten eggs in a row (Dion, Iggy, Shiny Pony), so the problem must go right to the core of the party.

    • canminuteman

I hope you’re not implying that Mark Garneau had substance are you?

      • Clausewitz

The bar was set low when the Shiny Pony took over.

        • Millie_Woods

When is Jian Ghomeshi going to get his turn?

          • Clausewitz

I hear he has his “feelers” out.

      • Martin B

Not a fan, I just didn’t think he’d be as much of an embarrassment as Trudeau Junior.

  • David Murrell

    A couple of points:
    1. It’s too early yet to count out Trudeau and his Liberal gang. If the public thinks Mulcair is the leading anti-Conservative candidate, they will the vote strategically and vote NDP. Then Trudeau is toast;

    2. Harper is definitely toast. He has the Mike Duffy trial coming up; the Canadian dollar is sinking and the economy is flat-lining. On top of that, there is a coalition of union-bosses ready to deluge the media with anti-Harper ads. On top of that, Harper decided to chicken out of the last set of debates (sponsored by the media cartel). This last move is sufficient to kill Harper in the election.

Get ready for a Mulcair-Trudeau coalition government. It’s in the bag.

    • Clink9

I’m going to run myself over with my car now.

    • I hope you are very wrong.

      • David Murrell

I certainly hope I am wrong too.

    • canminuteman

I think you might be right. And one of the thing that totally pisses me off about it is that the same people who were slamming Harper for the Canadian dollar being worth something and saying that we should have a low dollar policy to aid the manufacturing sector, are the same people who will be screaming at Harper for the low dollar.

The results of the last Ontario and Alberta election just show what Canadians are capable of doing to themselves at the ballot box.

    • Clausewitz

At least Harper is trying to put some money back into the taxpayers hands in order to stimulate the economy. Unfortunately Wynne is attempting to steal all the money she can find and bankrupt the Ontario economy. What’s Harper to do when the largest province in the country with formerly the largest economy is in the throes of a death wish?

      • El Martyachi

        Trade Toronto for Montana.

        • Clausewitz

I’d make that trade in an instant.

          • El Martyachi

… a plurality of those outside Toronto likely agree.

          • Frances

            Make that an absolute majority.

      • David Murrell

        Agreed.

      • Maurixio Garcia Sanchez

Sure Harper did that few days hago to buy votes, ask Mike and Pamela Wallins she got more than 15 dollars.

        • Clausewitz

You really have to expand your google searches for Canadian politics beyond the Toronto Star and the Globe.

        • dance…dancetotheradio

          hago?

        • mauser 98

Maxi… go ask your buddy Premier Strapon where billions of $$ went.. stolen lost wasted unknown billions $$

      • Wynne is insane.

    • disqus_W6sf

you do reside in NB and look what you rec’d in your provincial election. I understand it was the English vote that allowed

    • disqus_W6sf

you do reside in NB and look what you rec’d in your provincial election. I understand it was the English vote that allowed Gallant/liberals in What a mess
Give up on the Maritime. I was born here and lived most of my adult life here. I agree with my Ontario/Western friends that it is tribal/provincial with no interest

      • Clausewitz

NB voted to remain on welfare and turn away thousands of jobs in the gas industry as well as energy self sufficiency.

        • disqus_W6sf

          same old story….

        • Alain

That is the story of the Maritimes. I know coming (long ago) from Cap Breton.

      • Polls show the Maritimes is Liberal

    • mauser 98

      Why?
Duffy BS is about 90k$ paid back to taxpayers….sure CBC and the rest are obsessed with it.
Premier Strapon has pissed billions$ and no trial (OPP??)
falling Can. $$ is from international price of oil.. not really much he can do
Public Unions should be on their knees with gratitude.. government has exploded in size under Stevie … more slugs than ever..unsustainable
debates? so Stevie calls the shots who cares.. Justin, NDP would if they could

    • Alain

I prefer to wait for the fat lady to sing.

  • dance…dancetotheradio

Trudeau mus’ be krush like bug.

  • Speaksvolumes

My sense: internally, he’s pleased with the way things are headed. He doesn’t want to be PM, and he knows that he doesn’t have the disposition for it.
