Taliban elect new leader after death of Mullah Omar

The Afghan Taliban have appointed Akhtar Mohammad Mansour as leader of the insurgency, two Afghan commanders present at a meeting of the militant movement’s most senior figures said on Thursday, following reports that Mullah Omar is dead.

“The shura held outside Quetta unanimously elected Mullah Mansour as the new emir of the Taliban,” said one commander who attended the Wednesday night meeting. “The shura will release a statement shortly.”

  • So he is truly dead.

Hell is a richer place for having him.

    • I bet even they’ll complain;)

      • Well, he’s stuck with Hitler for all eternity.

I can’t imagine what they would talk about.

          The Joooooos!
          You know I’m right.

          • That’s true.

Hitler can be a frightful bore, as Mullah Omar will soon see.

Mullah Omar allegedly died in a Karachi Pakistan hospital two years ago, so tell me again why Pakistan is supposed to be an ally of the West? smdh Cut off funding and support to that terrorist supporting country.

Curious, how this election coincided with the belated announcement of the previous bastard’s death.

Interesting. Quetta is in Pakistan. Hmm?
Wouldn’t they have been better advised to conduct this election on their home territory, say Bradford or Rotheram or Tower hamlets?

  • lolwut?

Is Al-Qaeda even a threat anymore?

I mean, they’re mostly old farts who’s glory days were during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan and a brief spark in 2001 which just led to them scattered and hiding in the dank rooms paranoid every time a plane or chopper flies overhead.

I’m sure if these guys popped up again ISIS would chase them down like a dog on a cat,.
