A judge has thrown out a motor vehicle accident claim filed by a Burnaby man accused last year of travelling to Syria to join an Islamist terrorist group.
Hasibullah Yusufzai, the first person in Canada to be charged with the terrorism-related offence, left Canada on Jan. 21, 2014, and his whereabouts is unknown.
In 2012, he had filed a lawsuit in B.C. Supreme Court, claiming that he was injured on July 14, 2010, when his motorcycle was blocked by a vehicle at the intersection of 8th Street and 8th Avenue in New Westminster.
