Tunisia backlash against Britain as PM warns of terror ‘repercussions’

Britain’s advice that tourists should leave Tunisia because of the risk of another terror attack will “have repercussions”, the country’s prime minister has said.

Habib Essid said he would telephone David Cameron on Friday to respond to Foreign Office advice that the North African nation was unsafe for holidays.

Tunisia’s ambassador to London has already warned Britain is playing into the hands for terrorists with the new threat warning, which is likley to devastate the Tunisian tourist industry.

Does everyone in that part of the world smoke hash?

    • Sir Roderick Spode

To stay with the Bali theme of the other poster and yours regarding drugs. The flipside of the Bali Bombings is the Australians caught bringing drugs into Bali. They have been treated harshly. Think what you like about the ethics of capital punishment and smack. The MSM verballed our Foreign Minister threatening a boycott. The MSM beat up on the savagery of the executions rallying all right thinking Australians using all the amorphous “under fire” “widespread condemnation” etc atmospherics. Australians responded by visiting Bali in droves.

      • Linda1000

The Australians are fools to have such a great live affair with Bali. I note a month after the executions of the “Bali Nine” which included the two Australians after ten years in prison, the repercussions for the “good” Islamist president of Indonesia by the Aussie gov’t have all disappeared and it’s business as usual again with the Aussie ambassador or foreign minister returning to Bali after another of being recalled.
Indonesia does a good job of killing especially with its death squads slaughtering West Paupuans but expects clemency for its citizens imprisoned abroad.
Bali used to be a Hindu island- bet not so much anymore. I spent a week at Nusa Dua resort around 1992 – honeymoon capital of the world – my ass. There was no beach, food was crap and the whole island smelled from open ditch sewers and 30+ degree humidity. Don’t know why Aussies with your own beautiful country would waste your tourist dollars in Bali. I never want to go back there.
        30 plus

        • Sir Roderick Spode

Linda I am tottally with you. I am pro life. I am told the Hindu ethos in Bali is fading. My comment was only to buttress world commerce threatened by Islamic terror. We must not be suckered by propaganda.

    • Islam trains killers.

Visiting any Muslim population is Islamic roulette.

  • Brett_McS

There was a big tourism downturn immediately after the Bali bombings, but it bounced back quickly.

    http://www.eturbonews.com/31694/ten-years-significance-bali-bombings-tourism-industry

    • Sir Roderick Spode

Correct. After the initial shock wore off we became angry. We saw the Balinese as a sympathetic people who were as much victims as we were. We saw it as cowardice to avoid the place where lightning had struck once. Australians quickly resumed traffic to Bali. I have never been to Tunisia but the dynamic looks comparable.

      • Blacksmith

While it is certainly a persons free choice to go to a place like this, I personally would not for two reasons. One I would have a hard time relaxing while having to watch for islamist attacks. Two I would not want to condone this type of terror attack by putting my hard earned currency into a country that cannot or will not control these animals.

        • Sir Roderick Spode

There is a gap between these hillarious milqueyertoast comments you are making and the stars and bars on your nic. I must confess you are far too intellectual fer lillole me. But go join the kids and have fun.

          • Blacksmith

So I state an opinion other than yours and you attack my avatar? I see my change of avatar has has its intended effect.
The problem is islamist IMO so instead of supporting it I choose not to, I state this politely and you have a freak out?

          • Sir Roderick Spode

I havent freaked out and I haven’t attacked you as a contributer to online discussion nor have I belittled you in any way except to say your view point is confusing. If you were to take some time to put your view point on a more informative basis than “Yew I wasn’t old we would be machine gunned in Tunisia … I give it two thumbs down for a destination .. Can you not see that comes across as what we non American citizens call “naff” ?

          • Blacksmith

No it was not clear at all, Not being Australian I do not use nor understand the term ‘naff’
As to the rest you made a comment that seemed derogatory regarding my choice of avatar and my statement regarding my choice of whether or not to support and islamist country.
I have deep sympathy for those killed in Tunisia, I would hope that future vacationers take into account what happened before they choose to vacation there.
I don’t see any confusion in my viewpoint to not support islamist.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Nice try agent provocatuer. Most of us decadent infidels can sniff you out. Go back to the madrassa to get a new white sheet draped over your head. The American administration you have coopted will pay you to destroy us.

          • Blacksmith

Have you been hitting the sauce? While I recognize you and your posts here from years of reading them, I am surprised you do not recognize mine. Most times I admit my posts are a bit more feral and less polite you have brought out the wordsmith effort.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Oh really ? So when you told your boss a certain Sir Roderic Spode was being by way of an interlocutor the files showed that a certain SRS showed up a bit squiffy back a few weeks ago. Now why would you have a record of that ? How come you are that organised?

          • Blacksmith

Yup deeply in the sauce I see.

          • El Martyachi

He just drinks too much and vents here on Saturdays. I don’t think it’s anything personal.

          • Blacksmith

Yeah I noticed, he is a bit of an ass. I thought at first we were having a discussion.

  • Blacksmith

Maybe they need to divest themselves of the islamist and then they might be more appealing to tourist.

    • Sir Roderick Spode

There is no place on the planet totally free from thuggish violence. Where I live here in Australia is as close as it gets. We have had our drilling crews attacked by bad eggs travelling in the desert. Smashed in the face with bricks.

I have the feeling your Pecksniffian comments are a rib tickler. You cant possibly be that unworldly?

      • Brett_McS

I didn’t imagine there were many other Australian fans of Wodehouse.

        • Sir Roderick Spode

We are second only to the Indians. I believe the British drub in about 9th.

      • Blacksmith

Just so I am clear here, since there are bad apples everywhere and thuggish behavior of many flavors I should ignore the one that is most rampant in the world today?

        • Sir Roderick Spode

You are clearly setting up a hissy fit and a big flounce outa here. Man go your hardest. I asked about the stars and bars on your profile? If Yes why slouch ? If No why cry victim?

Your lack of literacy makes me suspect you are a troll.

          • Blacksmith

Apparently my avatar has had a bigger effect than I thought. It seems to have confused you as well. I have been on this blog for years.
As to the stars and bars I changed it recently in support of history in general. It is being blamed for many things it did not do, and does not represent. It is a historical flag in our country.
While I might tire of your angst and cease responding to you, I will not discontinue to read this blog and comment when I wish.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Why were you flying the stars and bars?

          • Blacksmith

The stars and bars flag represents part of the history of the United States, a quite misunderstood portion of our history awash with falsehoods and misunderstood intents. I am a student of history (not an expert) and I changed my avatar because a large part of our populace and those of other countries are misrepresenting this flag and what it stood for. I refuse to cater to their disrespect.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

So you are in a call center – you clearly have no idea. What the stars and bars mean. Your boss will probably give you a kick up the bum for not getting the propaganda right . Where are you at? Pakistan ? Michigan?

          • Blacksmith

There is no upside to this conversation except for you airing your angst. I do know what the flag stands for and you are apparently relying on the MSM or BLM or such for your information. We are done here.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Well you tell me with out refering to your supervisor … Why the stars and bars?

          • Blacksmith

Since you do not know your confederate flag history let me help you out. So the flags in my avatar are not the “stars and bars” but instead the “blood stained banner”. The “stars and bars” had 4 iterations starting with 7 stars and ending with 13 with the inclusion of Kentucky and Missouri into the confederacy even though those states did not wholly join the confederacy.
I am not sure of when the battle flag started being called the “stars and bars” but it is a common mistake. Adeu

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Is that what your supervisor told you to say? … Look it would be more effective if you just blew your cover like the chineese used to do. And no one is ever going to belive that .. OH BUT WAIT the plan is to kill every one that isnt Muslim.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

This is precious. Enemies of the USA are posing out as post carding pussies. “Oh Gosh and Oh Golly wouldn’t want to be sympathetic to America? Now would we children?”

          • Sir Roderick Spode

So you worked to the bottom of your call sheet. When challenged call your interlocutor “angst driven” racist” ‘Right wing and violent” .. Look if your Super is pissed with you have him call me.. I will get you off the acussation that you are too stupid to help with global jihad.

          • Blacksmith

As to the lack of literacy, I do confess to not understanding some of the slang you use, which likely would be the same were I to slip into the vernacular of my youth.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

So what slang it it that I have so nefariously snagged you with?

          • Blacksmith

Upping your game I see, did mommy help?

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Gotta love that ! .. Please insult me and explain to me how rat shit I am .. as in ..Please enlarge.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Since your posts lack cultural depth to the extent you don’t even exist. As an entity. It is wild that you guys chose the stars and bars and gave it to you to fly. When challenged you have no idea what the Stars and Bars mean or have you much grasp of English,
Remember your first post was a pissy concern troll . And you and your supervisors thought best try some kinda verisimilitude of a viewpoint.

On a wider perspective. When I was a young man I had a nibble on some mushrooms called psilosy

          • Sir Roderick Spode

My contention is you have a very poor grasp of grasp of English. You are flying the Stars and Bars and posting as a concern troll about tourism in Tunisia. You are so transparent as to be funny.

          • Blacksmith

My grasp of “grasp” of English is of course American so it is, what it is.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Know what ? We wonder why you are being so defensive over your lack of English literacy. We never would have spotted it if your use of the stars and bars as an avatar. And your “dumber than a bag of wet mice ” concern trolling over terrorism in Tunisia. Sorry to say you are useless as a propaganda operative. Tell your boss the infidel cannot be deceived by your hapless artifice. Likely they can find you a gig in suicide bombing.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

I am as fascinated as can be as to how your wisdom could contribute the the better preserve and presentation of America.

          • Blacksmith

Do you know you can hover over someone’s avatar with your cursor and see their history of comments?

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Gosh oh golly ! Well perhaps you need to go back to pour scorn on folk considering Tunisia as a tourist destination. Rather GHASTLY dont you think? Infidels and such .

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Well go hard Man slip into the vernacular of your youth!! Tell all. Let me know which of my challenges involved estoteric use of English. I would suggest none of them. Your presentation of a normal American carrying the stars and bars talking sh2it in a BB cover got blown because you are Peggy Lee. Is that all there is?

  • Sir Roderick Spode

Disclaimer. I am a healthy middle aged man. I have qualifications in Mathematics Fire figthing. Chemistry. Poetry. I Would love to contribute to right wing ethos and home schooling. How come is it that your country has all these limp wristed proffesors bemoaning thier tenure or lack of same. If I were given charge of lively young minds I would be teaching chemistry and politicos by way of cooking moonshine. I am available as a tutour. !!

  • Sir Roderick Spode

Does the Whale’s Magnitude Diminish?—Will He Perish?

    • Sir Roderick Spode

Do your good people even recognise the literature that made America great ?

      • ntt1

we all recognize a crashing bore and avoid him.

        • Sir Roderick Spode

Seriously ? I wont take issue with you .. You don’t like Melville it is up to you.

        • Sir Roderick Spode

My invoking Melville was by way of calling out a troll. It isnt something I am interested in but just found myself doing. Next time hands in pockets,

        • Sir Roderick Spode

Which contributors to literature do you find timely worthwhile and exiting?

          • ntt1

thats beside the point of your boorish remarks get lost.

          • Sir Roderick Spode

Dont understand your contribution? PLS explain?

        • Sir Roderick Spode

So you contend Herman Melville is a “crashing bore” ? Could be you are right. Certainly his “Eating him by his own light” would be an anathema to you chaps. Jolly poor form. I must be honest. I have tended to avoid the company of chaps who have been put an harpooning whales. Not quite PLU dont you know? I for one want it on the record I have never harpooned so many as one whale.
