Study: Wind Farms Even More Expensive And Pointless Than You Thought

The cost of wind energy is significantly more expensive than its advocates pretend, a new US study has found.

A new windmill farm for Renfrew now seems likely it will happen it will have 200 turbines.

Just what we need (sarcasm off), I wonder what Ontario will look like 20, 30 years from now. And how much electricity will cost. Actually, I don’t want to know … (sigh).

I see there is an excellent page to visit to keep up on the Ontario
Hydro ripoff story and they have a scathing intro on what has happened
to Hydro rates since 2003 at

I wonder if they picked 2003 by coincidence, or if it was chosen because it was the year the Liberals came to power in Ontario? But it shows that since they did, the peak rate for electricity has multiplied by 3-3/4 times or as they put it “increased by 274.4%”. The Sun’s Lorrie Goldstein likes to choose old stories from that site for his tweets.

A whole forest of money trees.

      • Reader

No, the money trees are only grown in Liberals’ back yards with tax payer subsidies.

        • tom_billesley

Yep. That’s what I meant. The blades don’t even have to turn to make money for the owner.

Hey, no problem in Ontario, we have lots of money. CBC is excited this morning about talk that Toronto might make a bid for the Olympics, No problem. And NDP and Liberals making big money promises to whiny indians. No problem. And of course leftists in Toronto demonstrating with Al Gore today for more expensive environmental efforts. No problem. We love spending money here in Ontario. Money grows on trees here. In fact I think they are ripening on the trees right now for an early harvest.

Rent seekers heaven – the door of GLLKDW is always “open for business”.

They should turn the provincial legislature into a wind farm (make some use out of all that hot air).

Blaze: partly off topic, but I found some hard info as to Liberal Pan Am ticket handouts, something you brought up yesterday. The Globe and Mail, in an article “Pan Am organizers try to drum up ,coal interest amid low ticket sales”, said the follwing:

“This week the province purchased 4,500 tickets worth $105,000 to give away to children and youth through a summer-camp program”.

I will ding the Globe writer for more info.

Shouldn’t it be illegal to say anything critical related to the great climate catastrophe even if it’s the complete truth?

  • Think of how much it costs to put up these bird-killers and what it costs to take them down. Consider their lack of battery storage.

Whoever thought this was a good idea should be tarred and feathered.
