“If you’re Greek and you want to be industrious and clever, you leave Greece”

Columnist David P. Goldman, a.k.a. “Spengler,” literally wrote the book on how civilizations die. Who better to talk to about the economic crisis in Greece, the EU and the world at large.

A good interview, well worth your time.

That is a good interview, and has more pertinent information in it than in a boatload of media reports.

    • Yup, makes it very hard to choose a side in this whole mess.

I don’t know how you but I’d stick with Israel.

I like Ezra, but can’t he let people speak? I know it is his show, but he puts so much into the mouths of the person being interviewed, rather and short to the point questions.

The art of interviewing – rather than just have someone come in to the studio and talk for 20 minutes – started in Melbourne, Australia. A man came into the studio to talk about something or other but when presented with the microphone got stage fright and couldn’t utter a word. So, the producer of the show – a woman – starting asking him questions to help him get going. That was the first interview.

It’s sort of got out of hand since then.

I used to find this annoying on SNN and it wasn’t just Ezra who was guilty. Actually Michael Coren was by far the worst at interrupting and cutting people off before they had a chance to respond. I liked that Brian Lilley asked a question and gave the person time to respond, although there were times when I wished he would have corrected the statement/claim afterwards. So I would prefer that approach, but Ezra has to be one of the best to investigating and getting to the truth I must admit.

There was a really good Greek restaurant over on Centre Street here in Calgary. Family known for opening their doors for Canadian Thanksgiving. Son died early of cancer), and heard father ( who started restaurant) has also died These were Greek immigrants who truly gave back to their adopted country. Sad to see the Mycokos Restaurant is no more.
