Emotional Five-Year-Old Girl Becomes a Vegetarian

“Noel wasn’t sure how to explain to his daughter why people eat animals when she became tearful at the description of a farmer’s job. Five-year-old Indie Rose immediately decided to become a vegetarian, and according to her mother Nicole, she hasn’t eaten meat since that day in March 2015. “She wasn’t pushed into anything…no one in my family is a vegetarian,” Nicole said on Facebook. “I’m not allowed to even kill a fly in my house.”

Ooog… I would hate to have to handle this.

Almost every parent goes through this.
I just told my kids that none of those animals would hesitate to eat THEM if they were big enough.

    • Good point.

        My daughter still hates chickens.
Kicking in her bedroom door while wearing a giant chicken suit in at 1:00 in the morning might not have helped either, now that I think about it.

    • LauraS

True. My boys became concerned about eating cow…but hamburgers are just so delicious and tasty. lol I think the strong empathy for animals is more of a girl thing.

  • I think it’s sweet. She’ll grow out of it. At least she’s not some little psychopath.

No need to brutalize the kid’s sensibilities by forcing her to eat something she’s horrified of.

    • Yea I think they do. I love her accent.

      • Need to force her to eat meat? Seems a bit callous.

        • Norman_In_New_York

She might need a supplement to compensate for the foregone meat protein.

That’s what peanut butter is for.

            Eggs. Cheese.

I was forced to eat liver and onion (for iron); I put it in the back of my cheeks asked to be excused and spit it out down the commode — yes we had plumbing problems from it, but it took awhile for them to figure it out….and have fat cheeks from it.

          • Surele Surele

Liver and onions.Yum. No, seriously Yum. Can’t you tell, I’m Jewish?

        • I meant that she will grow out of it.

          • Probably in a couple of weeks, if her parents stop making a big deal about it.

She sounds like a wee leprechaun, doesn’t she?

    Typical woman voter.

The name Indie Rose is a good indicator of a touchy feely upbringing as a future progressive.

Some kids get upset about such things others not so much.

I’m still trying to get rid of a stupid stray cat. My four year old wants to catch it, take it the forest and set if free so the cougars will eat it. 🙂 Good plan. I love that kid.

    Noel is a dipshit.

I was a vegan from sixth grade until a sophomore in college—a big feat being
from a Polish/Ukrainian meat eating family. Then they burned my thyroid out of me with radioactive iodine and said I need the enzymes in red meat that just couldn’t be synthetically produced. They showed my mom how to reintroduce it into my diet; has been fillet Mignon medium-rare ever since – I love being a carnivore now. I suppose I should repent.

    • Minicapt

      Medium-rare? … overcooked!

      • infedel

Perhaps; depends on the wine – I do eat steak tartare when I find a smoking
        establishment that serves it 😉

  • Meet Your Meat

We, as a society, are getting too far removed from our sources of food.

We, as a family, made a point of having our kids meet their meat. Took them to the farm where it was raised so they could see it running around in a healthy environment which included all the poop. Then we took them to the abattoir the day it was delivered for slaughter and got a tour. I explained to them my belief that we have a god-given dominion over animals and all food is a gift from God supplied by hard working farmers. They had started to get the ‘vegetarian’ line from the liberal institutions they have been exposed to but a few simple lessons from their parents seems to have convinced them the system we have is pretty good.

The ‘Dad’ in the video didn’t have a very compelling argument for why we should be chopping up animals to eat. Because it tastes good is a darned good reason but the little girl thinks all animals are nice. That’s crap and he doesn’t seem to care she believes crap. As somebody pointed out above, most animals will stomp you to get at their food. Yes, they can be tamed and some can even be loyal and good companions but in the end we have dominion over them and we must respect that.

My colleagues were upset and disgusted when a Greek butcher hung a lamb in the window of his shop. I asked them: where do you thing your lamb chops come from? They just didn’t want to know or see it. Give them plastic to eat! i say. Vegetables feel pain too, don’t butcher them.

      • ntt1

        vegans don’t,they have kinda atrophied.

  • Justin St.Denis

When I think of all the little veggie lives being terminated on a daily basis by this beastly child, I could weep!

  • WalterBannon

Stupid kid. A product of stupid parents.

  • ntt1

this is just Munchausen by proxy . the proggy mom projecting her prejudices and eating disorders on her daughter. We had similar tantrum driven attempts to seize center of attention, a short cooling off time is needed then firm but loving explanation of the realities of Human nutrition, no punishment just lots of redirection away from the cultural marxism they get bombarded with, this idiot mother is reinforcing those marxist tenets.
