Dukes of Hazzard pulled from TV screens amid Confederate flag row

They may have been in trouble with the law since the day they were born, but now the Duke boys may have run in to the sort of challenge even they can’t outrun – anti-Confederate flag protesters.

    Dag nam dem Duke Boys!

  • Drunk_by_Noon

    Down the memory hole!
Maybe they could digitally edit out “old Dixie” and replace it with the rainbow flag.

  • Shebel

Most good people in the South wish that they had never heard of COTTON.

  • Oracle9

No word from all the Bubbas and Good Old Boys, but I doubt if they will meekly submit to the ‘progressive’ city folks and hippies.

    • Shebel

I know—They will go extreme and backfire.

      • Oracle9

You’d think that even the lefties would tire of perfecting the rest of us.

        • Shebel

Not to say that a wee bit of perfecting would be wrong, cause we sure as hell need it— but– what they want us to Accept is exactly what we are attempting to leave behind as a bad memory.

          • Oracle9

The agenda of leftism is the perfectibility of man and his society. This is impossible – human nature cannot be suppressed with brainwashing, although it certainly is powerful in the short term, at least until reality hits home.

The corollary of that is that man exists for society, and not the other way around. And if we continue our rush to discard every single tradition which made us who we are, in their minds, the more perfect we will be.

Myself, I don’t believe that a powerful politboro of elites can be trusted to micromanage my life. And I don’t recall giving anyone permission to micromanage me in the first place.

Unfortunately half of Canadians seem to be clamoring for exactly that!

          • Shebel

            That is good.
            Either–
            Man exists for Society –or
            Society exists for Man.

Where does religion and God fit into this mix? I am not trying to be an asshole here . I just want an honest answer.

          • Oracle9

That’s OK. I guess only each individual can answer that question, which depends on how they approach the transcendent.

It’s pretty amazing to me how the disease of marxist attitudes, which we have seen advance in the Canadian psyche for several decades now in the many medusa heads of cultural marxism, entitlement culture, identity politics, needs for its advancement that we suppress the idea of any intelligence greater than man.

Hence in the West the moral, intellectual and cultural heritage bequeathed to us directly from Judeo-Christian thought, plus Roman and Greek law, and by which our civilization thrives or fails, is being aggressively supplanted by the new fundamentalist religions of secular humanism and Enlightenment thinking run amok, complete with its dogma, rubrics, and punishments for heretics, and with of course its temporary ally, the antithesis of these philosophies – the moon-god of seventh-century Arabia.

          • Shebel

Yes.- I get it and agree.
What I don’t get is your lingo. As Shania Twain says “It don’t impress me much”.

          • Oracle9

My “lingo” is English. If the words are baffling to you it’s most likely you don’t think much about the ideas to which I refer.

          • Shebel

            OK.OK. –I was tired
No need to have a hissy fit.

          • Oracle9

            Likewise. Enjoyed the conversation 😉

  • Justin St.Denis

Isn’t this ridiculous? It reminds me how Canada’s CRTC banned Dire Straits’ MONEY FOR NOTHING after it had been praying on-air for 25 years – because of the word “faggot” in the lyrics. That decision was met with such derision in Canada that I believe it was rescinded, since I have heard the song on Canadian radio since then.

    • It was laughed away.

    • Canadian

And we still have the Dukes on cable here.

    :::”

  • The Mohawk flag is a flag of extremists.

    Carry on.

    • lolwut?

      Nah, just criminals.

“Mohawk Warrior society” is just the indian version of “Motorcycle enthusiasts” which the Hell’s angels use for their PR bullshit.

There are signs all over the Osoyoos band reserve like:

“Real warriors have a job, real warriors support their families”

OKA wasn’t about ancient burial grounds, it was about protecting
smuggling routes over the USA/Canada border.

Instead of sending Canadian farmers to jail for letting Muslims kill a sheep on their property — Would it be OK if farmers just let Muslims have sex with the sheep and goats.
This is a serious question for politicians.

  • dagawker

    • Shebel

LOL– Hahaha —I am still laughing— ))))

Some things are just sooo right.

  • Exile1981

You can still buy the dvd’s on amazon.ca but not amazon.com

    • Drunk_by_Noon

I just checked and you are right.

Oh well, there is always Pirate Bay, Kick-Ass Torrents, and a zillion other sites to chose from.
Any one of us that gives the ‘Hollywood Indoctrination Complex’ a thin dime is just paying for their own noose.
      Bit Torrent EVERYTHING!

      • Exile1981

Years ago I bought certain books that I figured would eventually be banned. I sealed them in a couple of time capsules; I figured that these would be the books that the left would purge from history or try and ban and this way they would exist in a few secret hidden places… I guess I should have put Gone with the Wind and the Dukes of Hazard into those pipes as well.

  • dagawker

    It’s about flags,right?
