ISIS and the Lonely Young American

Alex, a 23-year-old Sunday school teacher and babysitter, was trembling with excitement the day she told her Twitter followers that she had converted to Islam.

For months, she had been growing closer to a new group of friends online — the most attentive she had ever had — who were teaching her what it meant to be a Muslim. Increasingly, they were telling her about the Islamic State and how the group was building a homeland in Syria and Iraq where the holy could live according to God’s law.

These new friends were “…the most attentive I’ve ever had…”
And that explains it all. If the Jehovah Witnesses had showered her with attention first, today she’d be knocking on your door handing out pamphlets.

Yeah, that was my thought too. It wasn’t really the ideology (though they knew enough to hide the horrible stuff from her initially and emphasize supposed similarities to what she was accustomed to – Christianity). But it was the attention. Of course, once they had her hooked she would have found that the kind of attention they gave her to have been less … agreeable.

I wonder if she’s so far gone she’ll still try to run off and become a jihadi whore at some point.

It’s been a while since they last came to my house. It could be because they got told if they ever came back I’d hide the bodies where no one would find them. The JW had the gall to show up at our local church during a funeral of a family member and try and convert the mourners.

they showed up at a cabin party up at Whistler mountain a few years back, we just invited them in, chances were they would not get anywhere with such a delirious gathering, and they didn’t. there was very little sense being made by anybody and after wandering about for a while, they left quietly.

That’s less offensive than them telling the next of kin that the deceased was going to hell because they were not a JW.

          • ntt1

it wasn’t offensive at all but it was funnier than hell as the poor twits could gain no traction with anybody. they were welcomed yet ignored and it bothered them.

There is no end to the destruction wrought by the 19th Amendment.

Without exception, women should be at home having babies and making dinner. Oh, and keeping their mouths shut too.

        That’s the spirit, Kaye!
