Reports IS jihadists Khaled Sharrouf and Mohamed Elomar killed in Iraq
SECURITY agencies are investigating reports two of Australia’s most senior Islamic State fighters, Khaled Sharrouf and Mohamed Elomar, have been killed in terrorist fighting in Iraq.
There have been unconfirmed reports the Sydney men, who travelled to Syria in 2013, and then to Iraq, were killed in the past week by a drone strike.
A person close to one of the men’s families said the pair died in fighting in the Iraqi city of Mosul, the ABC’s 7.30 program reported last night.
The child playing with the severed head in the pic is the son of Khaled Sharrouf.
