Michael Oren: Obama’s outreach to Muslim world could be rooted in father abandonment issues

“In addition to its academic and international affairs origins, Obama’s attitudes toward Islam clearly stem from his personal interactions with Muslims,” Oren wrote in a Foreign Policy op-ed published Friday.

“I could imagine how a child raised by a Christian mother might see himself as a natural bridge between her two Muslim husbands. I could also speculate how that child’s abandonment by those men could lead him, many years later, to seek acceptance by their co-religionists.”

Trying to find a reason/excuse for him and trying to explain away his actions and ideology is a sad piece of what I call intellectual masturbation. Who cares? He cannot and must not be excused for the destruction and damage he has done and continues to do.

    • He simply can’t be trusted by friend or foe. I genuinely believe he is unstable.

Obama was a professor and he was meant to be in environments where he talked with people of different races and creeds. I don’t see what the big deal is. The fact that a nation must give up its sovereignty and be allied to foreign powers is even worse. The US shouldn’t have closeness to Israel or any other nations. The US should, at this time, just focus on its domestic policy. The US’s days of policing the world are over because the mainstream politicians in the US have completely sold off manufacturing and their nation. I really don’t understand how anyone could even be in support of anything conservative or liberal at this point. There are plenty of other ideologies one can support to still be patriotic. Frankly, Oren is a Zionist and if he likes Israel so much he can live there. Leave America to be governed by Americans and for Americans, and not foreign powers. Even the founding fathers in the US did not want foreign entanglements and people wanting closeness to other nations. The Barbary pirate situation was a one-off, but the US was originally a non-interventionist nation. The US needs in my view nationalism and isolationism for a change.

Sovereignty must be protected and the same with a nation’s strategic resources. The US a fascist nation on economic policy, as defined by Mussolini. He stated that corporatism is in essence fascism. You know the merger of state and corporate power.

When you say “governed by Americans,” what Americans are you talking about? Oren is no longer an American but an Israeli who lives there.

We already tried isolationism and ended up with World War II. Isolationism is for losers like you and Obama.
