‘Religious counselling’ among 25 bail conditions imposed on idiot convert

Aaron Driver, a Winnipeg man who was arrested for expressing support online for ISIS, has been released on bail with 25 conditions, one of which is that he undergo “religious counselling.”

Winnipeg human rights lawyer Corey Shefman calls those conditions unprecedented, adding they don’t align with Canada’s democratic values.

Deprogramming? “Killing for Allah is bad.” (ergo) “Islam is bad.”

What a stupid decision. Not that there are any shortage of those these days. He becomes a muzzy and decides to kill infidels. They sentence him to religious counselling. He goes to the local imam for counselling and he gets counselled to be a good muzzy and go forth and kill infidels.

hey no worries….Shahina Siddiqui will set him straight. LOL.

There isn’t much info in the article. For all we know, the religious counselling clause was his idea.

It is hard to tell from the pic; is he another ginger jihadi?

What would be in alignment with democracy is him sitting in a cell refused bail. I don’t believe a majority of Canadians would want someone espousing an anti-democratic death cult walking free, whatever the bail conditions.

    • John Schulting

So you decide what people can support, then throw those who disobey in prison without bail. I seriously hope you do NOT have your finger on the pulse of the canadian public.

      • Minicapt

… and public floggings, with ticket sales and souvenirs.

“Siddiqui said there’s special counselling available for Canadians who want to learn about Islam, and courses to help prevent young people from being recruited by extremist groups.”

You know, like the programs Baptists and Catholics have to prevent their followers from blowing stuff up.

  • Xavier

I’d be very careful about supporting this. Next time, it may be participants of anti-Islamic blogs who get religious counseling.

The intent may be good, but the implementation stinks.

  • John Schulting

A nation which arrests it’s citizens for expressing their views is not a nation worth saving. If all the separates us from ISIS is the doctrine we wish to enforce then we don’t have much claim to the moral high ground.
