Sarkozy: There Are Schools in France Where You Cannot Teach the Holocaust

Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy told an audience in Israel on Monday that there exist schools in France where teachers cannot teach about the Holocaust.

“It’s true there are schools [in France] where you cannot teach the Holocaust,” Sarkozy said during an open discussion at the 15th Annual Herzliya Conference, according to a journalist from French BFM TV.

And in Ontario…?

I imagine some of the children are taught it at home. Not as a lesson in humanity or history, but rather as a goal.

As for Ontario, it’s just a matter of time before a lot cannot be taught in the history curriculum.

I don’t think they teach history anymore. Well, maybe 1 course in the 4-year highschool curriculum.

Only grade 10 history is mandatory. In my high school usually there’s about a core group of 40 students that take history right into grade 12. I’m currently in a dispute about giving exemptions from class for one particular group that doesn’t want their children learning about the holocaust. I say fine, skip the classes but you will not get credit for the marks on the assignments missed. Their families want them exempted and it not to affect their marks. Luckily I have the support of the CEO of the school board who understands the curriculum requirements and how it can effect a school.

That would be like asking your math teacher for an exemption from doing algebra. On top of that it is a racist request that make your workplace a hostile place if your board complies with it.

Screw them, and if the board caves then file a HRC complaint against them at the Ontario Human Rights commission. Time to start using the left’s tools against them.

I hate to be trite, but you know what they say: Those who do not learn the lessons of history . . .

          • Clausewitz

I agree with you Waffle. Also I don’t just teach names and dates, that’s low level learning/ At the end of the semester I hope the students that graduate from my class have learned how to question, and do research on their own. Especially question doctrinaires that pass as teachers.

          • Waffle

You sound like a great teacher. I hope your students remember you as they move on. Too many “teachers” have reduced history to a series of disconnected dates and out-of-context events.

Holocaust Denial will in fact become official policy in next door Belgium soon. You will probably wind up fired from your teaching job and possibly fined for teaching that the holocaust even happened, soon. It’s coming.

    • mobuyus

It will become a hate crime.

      • WalterBannon

Allowing muslims to immigrate here is a hate crime against the indigenous peoples by their own govt. Justification for civil war and lynching of politicians.
