Tim Hortons has declared war on Canada’s energy industry

I can’t believe it. Tim Hortons has declared war on Canada’s energy industry.

A U.S.-based lobby group called ForestEthics pressured Tim Hortons to rip up an advertising contract they had with a Canadian pipeline company. And Tim Hortons agreed.

Tim Hortons has no problem doing business in OPEC dictatorships They have stores in Kuwait. In the United Arab Emirates. In Qatar. In Oman. Those are all dictatorships. Tim Hortons happily takes their money.

I hate these bastards anyway, they were among the worst abusers of the Temporary Foreign Workers program.

Abuse of the TFW was literally incorporated into the Tim Horton’s business model.

That’s how arrogant these pricks are.

Recently very progressive American owned Burger King bought out Tim Hortons. Burger King is against Canadian oil because left wing progressive’s HATE it so Burger King only supports leftist causes and Tim Hortons is falling in line with them. So don’t be surprised to see Tim Hortons issuing a new brand of coffee just like Burger King did with their whopper. http://globalnews.ca/news/1724238/its-official-tim-hortons-burger-king-become-one/

    • I won’t patronize either.

    • Surele Surele

It’s not the same burger (BK), and I don’t like their coffee (TH).

Burger King on Confederation Drive in Saskatoon gave me food poisoning at least three times.
I’ve never had food poisoning at McDonalds.

  • Rosenmops

The Tim Hortons near my work seems to hire foreigners exclusively. I rarely go there–afraid they don’t wash their hands.

    • TFW’s they use to suppress wages.

    • Surele Surele

      Exactly.

    • pike bishop

      Always a danger…anywhere.
I see the girls at the Harveys are wearing gloves.

    • BillyHW

Tim Horton’s hasn’t been Canadian in a while.

  • wallyj180

Forest Ethics, SumofUs, and the David Suzuki Foundation are all involved.

The guy shown over at SDA, Faisal Moola is with Suzuki.

The petition was up at SumofUs.
And your link has Forest Ethics.

The ‘right’ could learn from these guys.
Right now, Timmy’s is learning a lesson.

  • Martin B

Corporate cowards caving in to econazis.

    • They are blood sucking parasites.

    • Alain

I have read that at the back of all this is Warren Buffet who greatly benefits from the competition of pipelines and the oil sands. If this is factual, and I see no reason it isn’t, then it is purely agenda-driven and not just being corporate cowards.

      • Martin B

I have no doubt that Buffet and others benefit from this sort of thing. But shakedown artists like Al & Jesse didn’t get rich & powerful because so many corporations agree with their agenda, they got rich & powerful because so many corporations are craven cowards. When they show up at the door saying “give us a generous donation and promise to hire more black people, and we’ll stop calling you racist”, company after company just caves in rather than growing some balls and telling them to go to hell. The likes of Forest Ethics practice a similar form of extortion – give us a generous donation and stop supporting the tar sands, or we’ll picket your stores and brand your company an Enemy of the Earth.

      • Exile1981

Just before Obama started fighting the pipeline Buffet bought up most of the oil tanker rail cars. Even if the pipeline never gets built the oil will still be shipped and it will be shipped by rail so Buffet makes millions every day the pipeline isn’t running.

“Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. ”

I think that Timmy’s tastes like a witches brew. I don’t drink it.

    • Me neither.

      Good one.
I said it smells like kitty litter, witches like cats don’t they?
      Note: Nothing against cats.

I was raised in an era when these type of things were taught.

I grew up with a Shakespeare-quoting Mother. She started a Shakespearean reading group in the tiny northern town where we lived. As a result, the Stratford players made us one of their whistle stops.

          • pike bishop

I moved to near Great Yarmouth in 1968 with my folks. My dad worked the North Sea.
I kinda cheated at Jeopardy as I have been to
Stratford on Avon, Anne Hathaways’, etc.

          • pike bishop

No excuse for Americans (I love America & Americans) that are on Jeopardy.
Avon was the gimme. Stratford? Hello? you’re on Jeopardy.

        • pike bishop

You got that Swan / Avon question on Jeopardy didn’t you?

  • WalterBannon

Done and dusted. No more Tims for me.

  • Exile1981

I just informed the staff that there will be no more boxes of tim’s donuts for staff meetings. I think I’ll find a different source for donuts.

  • Maggat

I find it difficult to patronize a business the bakes their donuts somewhere in Ontario, freezes, ships them over the course of a week to Vancouver Island, microwaves them back to life and has the gall to pretend they are fresh. Sorry Timmy I’ll go else where.

    • Exile1981

They used to do them fresh on each site years ago.

      • Maggat

Ya, I know, that’s my bitch.

      • pike bishop

        Freshly microwaved.
Like “Made in Canada” & “Assembled in Canada”

      • Frances

Problem was, this required a baker who was willing to work odd hours. Maybe easy to find in larger centres, but tough in smaller ones. There were protests when this first happened, but the cheering of owners of smaller franchises (who had found themselves working all the nasty shifts) went unnoticed.

        • pike bishop

I worked more night shifts than most people had hot breakfast.

      • BillyHW

        You can tell the difference.

And all their crap is covered in an inch of glaze, it’s disgusting.

    • They are not donuts just foam.

  • canminuteman

They are getting hard to find, because they are getting rarer, but there are still a few independent mom and pop donut stores around. Find one and give it your business. I don’t go there often enough because it’s out of the way, but there is a bakery on Queen Street (the main drag) of Port Perry that makes the best jelly donuts and apple fritters you will find. The apple fritters are so big we cut them into four pieces. These sort of places are still around all over the place, but we get so used to going to the familiar, but mediocre, that we forget about them and they are dying off. Do yourself a favour. Find your local and give them your business.

    • Yup there are lots of independents.

    • Clink9

Like White Feather apple fritters on weekends near Port Perry. Mmmmm.

    • Clausewitz

Up in Thunder Bay we had more Robin’s Donuts locations than Timmies. Maybe they could start expanding. At Tim’s I keep asking for Original Blend, but the ESL idiots they hire keep giving me the new recipe. The only thing that stays the same, is change.

I cut off all my ties for business with the Bank Of Montreal when I stumble onto their new BMO-PRIDE policy that forced employees to morally and financially supporter gay causes such a the PRIDE parade.
BMO exploits the Charity laws by having a ” Foundation” ( like the Clinton’s have ) to look like a good Corporate citizen as they mete out funds to various causes.
What I objected to was how the pool of money gives some to Children’s causes and gays causes , this includes endorsing the PRIDE parade which since 2008 has has had the pro-hamas/Sharia groups along with the naked males breaking the laws meant to protect children from pedophiles and sexual predators in public. The Police and now Wynne, refuse to enforce the Federal Laws in 2013 for the Frontal Nudity by adult in public because the quasi-pedohiles are homosexuals and a protected group.
But hamas brutally murders gays under sharia as does Iran and Saudi Arabia , the Layer’s for BMO did not contest my letter of Complaint which inferred they condone child-abuse and murdering gays. I wasn’t rtying to deny BMO the right to hold those views, I just made it clear that I wasn’t going to be retro-actively Complicity one day for seeing this support for child-abuse and homophobia by them and doing nothing once I knew it.

ISIS can keep tossing gays from roof tops because the homofascists in Canada have a shared hatred for jews and Israel with the islamofascists
that are also on Campus supporting hamas along side the Rainbow groups and feminists too.
I doubt the Ontario Securities Commissions or BMO share holders
know about this or were told that part of the dividend money was diverted to show support for hamas murdering gays and the PRIDE child-abuse , this while the ” Foundation ” accepts money from employees that goes to Kids causes and gay causes.

BMO is playing both sides as kids are harmed by pervs in public that Police refuse top arrest , plus gays are murdered in gaza .

    btw
TD/Canada trust is tied to PRIDe as well and they too care more about profits that moral issue for gay rights and protecting children .

    • Good idea.

      • Gary

I also wonder if Share holders for BMO know that the Lawyers are raking in huge bags of money from their profits that eat into the Dividends while not caring about the moral stance to protect the Bank ‘s image and distance it from the Nudity and jew-hating groups.
I had stopped buying CAW cars when I found out that they gave $200,000.00 to a local refugee Centre that aided in getting illegals Welfare that came in as a Mexican with a american born baby . I also heard one employees there telling a new comers that the USA is evil and the jews caused WW2 on top of how racists Canada is.
The worker at the CAW I contacted was in the NDP and didn’t care, later they ran for the MP seat and won because of the immigrant/refugee population since the Welfare Office is right near by .
I reported them to the CRA via the RCMP, the charity status forbids being overtly Political more than their goal to help people. The store front pulled down all their hate posters and propaganda against Bush and the USA.

Sadly , people in the media don’t seem to care and nor did those in the Federal Government. It looked as if they all exploit illegals and anti-USA jew-haters because not one of them got back to me to see my proof from documents I came across.
One of the bogus refugees from L.A. listed their homeland as Mexico and their baby was born in California just about 4 months earlier.
How the hell does a women become a refugee from California when she safely had her baby their and she was closer to her homeland of Mexico than the near 3000 mile trip to Toronto from LA.

    • Frances

BMO also happens to run one of the more competent operations. Have just gone through financing negotiations with a client and the incompetence of the bank involved was unbelievable. Another client has had serious problems with yet another bank (not one of the big five). So does one move to a ‘purer’ bank and possibly face financial ruin because of incompetence, sloth, and just plain malice (internal politics of the bank messing up loans, etc), or does one just grit one’s teeth and stay with – relatively speaking – competence?

    • pike bishop

I liked to drink Heineken beer as the Dutch and Canadians had a certain connection.
      I switched.
Tim … just serve coffee & doughnuts.

  • BillyHW

So Christians can’t refuse to bake gay wedding cakes, but Tim Horton’s can refuse an Enbridge ad?

Do we live in Fagistan or something?

    • Mr_bigstuff

Excellent post – Can I use Fagistan?

    • Frances

And one which was already paid for!!
