We will live in a worl?

        • El Martyachi

He makes me laugh every single time. Not an easy thing to do…..

    • Frau Katze

      Good rebuttal.

Thanks for not citing Preston Manning who has a case of Bendii Syndrome.

Thanks hadn’t seen that before. I’d read Chromium Blue, Brave New World and have an mp3 of his 1962 Berkeley speech from the pre-youtube days kicking around.

      • Frau Katze

I haven’t read Brave New World. Maybe I should.

        • mauser 98

some say BNW more accurate predictions than 1984 (?)

          • Frau Katze

He seems reasonable in this vid. I think I’ll read it for sure.

The things he’s speaking of have only become more pronounced since 1958.

Communism has largely gone, but it’s been replaced by Islam + political correctness.

Even worse, the elites won’t admit it.

Look how Obama was sold as a candidate. Now the same things are happening with Hillary.

          • El Martyachi

As an ass kicking name taking senior you could do worse than taking a gander at things from the Huxley vantage.

I mean that in the best possible way, of course.

          • El Martyachi

It’s not the most uplifting story if you’re feeling blue. Just fair warning.

          • Frau Katze

Good point. Some books I start are too depressing to finish. One by Primo Levi I simply couldn’t read.

Another one was the highly recommended “Bloodlands”, about fighting in Eastern Europe during WW II.

It was just unreal. I quit after two chapters.

They were historical and true stories, makes a difference.

          • El Martyachi

Bloodlands was an important work! And so is keeping oneself from wanting to jump off a bridge! I took a course once that was entirely about the Holocaust and Holodomor. Nonstop mass death for a semester. It was a small class.

          • Frau Katze

I’ve read quite a bit on WW II and the Holocaust. Several dozen books. But there was something about those two.

Or maybe I was just in a blue period when I tried to read them. Could try again.

          • El Martyachi

Choosing what to read.. not easy. I’m beginning to wonder if books have ever mattered.

        • El Martyachi

I wonder what he would’ve thought about computing and the internet. Methinks just maybe he wouldn’t be a huge fan of google, facebook and “the cloud” way of doing things. Prolly would have had a lot of twitter followers. Just a hunch.

          • Frau Katze

            True…he lived in different era.

  • Sir Roderick Spode

    Thomas Sowell does pretty good.

  • Glenfilthie

Wait a minute…we HAD a ‘white Al Sharpton’. He was a successful comedian despite his douchebaggery.
    Is Guy Cabalero still alive?
