Nine bikers dead, 18 injured as rival motorcycle gangs battle outside Texas ‘Twin Peaks’ restaurant: reports

A trio of rival motorcycle gangs is believed responsible for a large gunfight that killed nine bikers and injured 18 outside a Waco, Texas restaurant, authorities said Sunday.

The lunchtime shooting sent witnesses scrambling for cover outside the Twin Peaks Restaurant where a shootout spilled out into the parking lot between three known “rival criminal biker gangs,” Waco Police Sgt. W Patrick Swanton said at a press conference.

Several law enforcement agencies including uniformed Waco police officers were already outside the restaurant as the gangs converged. They were expecting trouble. Despite their presence, the shootout ignited with officers returning fire amid pandemonium.

    Obviously they were provoked.

    • I would suggest that a micro-aggression occurred.

The CBC gun grabbers are out in full force .Right on cue!

    • Of course.

Will the cultural affronts from the CBC never stop?
There is nothing more American, especially Texan, than a shootout between deputies and outlaws.

I’ll assume they don’t do live-action ‘Wild West’ shows in Canada?
That was one of my favorite childhood memories, going to those things.
      So politically incorrect.

      • There’s always the Calgary Stampede.

I guess those are fun, but I don’t see ‘gun fights’ listed on the bill of attractions.
They would have a bunch of dudes firing shotguns and six shooters at each other on a Western town set and they would reenact famous gunfights like the O.K. Corral and various other microagressions with firearms.
Maybe that was solely an American artifact of the 1950’s-1970’s?
It was great fun, and I always thought how neat it was that my ears would be ringing for two days afterwards.

That’s fine! I’d be happy to see them get shot too.
            You know, equality.

You know, an interactive program could be a real money maker. Audience participation always draws the crowds.

I think there’s something like that in Weadickville at the Stampede. Not so fancy, of course.

“Gunshots left bodies scattered throughout the parking lot, but it’s not clear if they were killed by fellow bikers or police officers. ”

“It is amazing that innocent civilians were not injured here.”

    Draw your own conclusions.

      Texans shoot straight?

      • Drunk_by_Noon

        When they want to!

    • Xavier

They were bikers not thugs; of course they can shoot.
Uh-oh I used the bad word.

No loss, it’s a shame more of them couldn’t die.

I once heard Waco described as the Tigris and Euphrates of American soft drinks:

Perhaps the fight was over the rights to Dr. Pepper?
