A trio of rival motorcycle gangs is believed responsible for a large gunfight that killed nine bikers and injured 18 outside a Waco, Texas restaurant, authorities said Sunday.
The lunchtime shooting sent witnesses scrambling for cover outside the Twin Peaks Restaurant where a shootout spilled out into the parking lot between three known “rival criminal biker gangs,” Waco Police Sgt. W Patrick Swanton said at a press conference.
Several law enforcement agencies including uniformed Waco police officers were already outside the restaurant as the gangs converged. They were expecting trouble. Despite their presence, the shootout ignited with officers returning fire amid pandemonium.
