UK: 350 jihadis back from Syria may be plotting attacks… and all those restaurants!

Britain is facing the growing threat of terror attacks plotted by around 350 jihadis who have returned to the UK after being trained in Syria, Scotland Yard’s top counter-terrorism officer today warned.

Metropolitan Police assistant commissioner Mark Rowley revealed that more than 700 potential terror suspects have now travelled to Syria and around half are believed to have come back.

He said: ‘ISIS and other terrorist groups are trying to direct attacks in the UK, encouraging British citizens to travel to Syria to fight and train, and are seeking, through propaganda, to provoke individuals in the UK to carry out violent attacks here.’
