Supposedly desperate ‘migrants’ crossing the Med are refusing to be ‘rescued’ by Maltese patrol boats: too hard to then get to northern Europe

Maltese patrol boats have not been picking up migrants at sea because the migrants themselves refuse to be rescued by Maltese boats, the commander of the AFM’s maritime unit, Lt Col Andrew Mallia has been quoted as saying by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

He said that whenever Maltese patrol boats intercepted migrants’ boats the migrants invariably refused help.

He explained that the migrants did not want to come to Malta because that would make it difficult for them to proceed to Northern Europe…

    Let ’em drown.

      This really, really annoys me.

      • If they are allowed to drown when they capsize – they will cease coming. If European rescue boats go out and look for boats to save, the would-be migrants will feel they have a greater chance of making it to the shore of Europe and so will keep coming.

If anything constructive is to be done, it is to disallow such boats to leave the African shore, or to drive them back there one way or another. Alternatively, if the migrants are saved, they should never be taken to Europe, but only back to Africa (even if clandestinely, under fire).

To have borders is to defend them. If the borders of Europe are not defended, Europe will cease to be. Not just a million a year will come over, but tens of millions. A giant wave of immigrants. In the long run, the net result will be much death in and around Europe. So to let a few die is not that immoral. It is preemptive – the lesser evil.

This was one of the key arguments used against the Labor government in Australia: the supposedly desperate asylum-seeking ‘boat people’ were bypassing several suitable safe haven countries in order to get to Australia Welfare Land.

      Exactly. They want the goodies.

Proof, as if any was needed, that they are parasites.

It’s how they consumed several US cities we can all name, leaving little more than smouldering ruins in their wake.

    • Their victimhood is faked, a means to an end.
