“We have the Swords”- Nasheed (anthem) from Islamic State’s Ajnad Media

One of the “darker” nasheeds of the Islamic State, similar in tone to “We have come as soldiers for God”:

We have the raging, smiling [gleaming] swords,
We have the cry of truth when the clash takes place.
We are the defiant, raging lions,
Breaking iron with strong determination,
Breaking iron with strong determination.

When war comes with the melody of bullets,
We descend on disbelief, desiring retaliation.
They nourish death: for there is no escape,
While we nourish guidance from the blood of the vein,
While we nourish guidance from the blood of the vein.

And we sever off heads by the strike of the sword,
And by striking the enemy we heal souls.
So take heed, my enemy, of the day of doom,
That the old glory may arise in the world,
That the old glory may arise in the world.

The clashing of the spearheads is the melody of men,
And in war there is might, and return of dignity.
So arise for eternity, brother, come and shake off the path of stupid laziness
And shake off the path of stupid laziness.

When the fire kindles, we are the conflagration,
We burn by a sword the gathering of [disbelieving] folk,
We cleanse from the world the night of wrong-doing,
So a new dawn will arise in the world,
So a new dawn will arise in the world.

Our swords are cutters among the enemy,
And our deeds glisten among mankind.
And we continue on the path till death,
With the tawheed of the Lord and a rightly guided sword,
With the tawheed of the Lord and a rightly suided sword.

So my people, arise for the phase of swords,
For there is no life except in the shade of death.
We die with glory as we stand,
And there is nothing better in life, the life of the slaves [i.e. of God],
And there is nothing better in life, the life of the slaves.
