Big government is evil.
Abolish the IRS & go to a flat tax administered by the states.
If I was in the USA, I would agree with you. But I live in the province of Ontario. The more Feds I can put between me and my provincial government right now, the happier I am. Our premier is a sociopath, lying lesbian advocate who would spend our money on the lesbo 1% of Ontario’s population if she could.
There have been a number of reports of the Canada Revenue Agency doing the same thing on programs like CTV’s W5.
Agreed, there have been a fair few fairly egregious cases by CRA. Irvin Leroux is probably the best-known victim of the CRA, but a quick google search will uncover many others.
Charles Murray has an interesting book coming out in a couple of weeks called By The People, which is about – among other things – developing a fund for victims of bureaucracy (analogous to the fund used to help the pizza place when they were attacked by the Gaystapo).
Never make deposits to your own account in excess of 10K. Never withdraw in amounts in excess of 5K at a time. Any transactions above these amounts are reported to governments. Just so you know…
This is what abusive tyranny looks like.
It’s not necessarily the laws, buts it’s the fact that there are so many of them that any and every person becomes an unwitting law-breaker and then the laws can be capriciously followed to the letter by any petty bureaucrat as a means of coercion, and to instil terror into the rest of us.
This is why it was so important that Lois Lerner and many of those under her should face trial and if found guilty, go to prison.
The IRS needs to be dissolved as it has been doing nonsense like this to spread fear and terror over atleast the last 60-years.
Not quite, Drunk. My story is related to this I e. I live in a “residentially zoned” area of my municipality. A neighbour – a renter, I might add – had been running an automotive repair operation from his yard as a sideline to his full-time job driving a tow truck (yup, he is one of those!) We refer to them as the Clampetts, and their grotesquely filthy property as Trashtown.
Asking the municipality to actually ENFORCE that bylaw is useless. Complaining is useless. Yet I can see, from my property, a business which I estimate is pulling in anywhere from 100K to 250K per year in “off the grid” earnings. So I got creative – fixed cameras taking single frames every 60 secs for hours, actual footage in real time of major auto body work. I loaded all this shit onto a flash drive, complete with table of contents, and a covering letter detailing the activities my municipality wouldn’t prevent despite existing bylaws. I also included the neighbour’s name, address, employer’s name etc.
I sent the entire package to Canada Revenue Service, since they have a program by which citizens can, indeed, snitch and tell. I received a follow-up call which I think was fuelled only by some CRS worker’s desire to thank me for my “excellent submission” – that is how the chap referred to it. I thanked him and asked if my government was going to do something about this. “Oh yes, definitely!” he responded.
Then nothing for months!
Fully five months later, the Clampettes moved in a typical “midnight flight” from the premises.
“Asking the municipality to actually ENFORCE that bylaw is useless. Complaining is useless”
You’re absolutely right! And some members of the community do get away with ignoring by-laws while others have to comply. But that’s another story.
There was no audit conducted on him, no court appearance or trial was given to him. It is basically the IRS selected him to be guilty of something that is not illegal and stolen his entire lifesaving’s. It would be like a police officer one day knocking on your front door declaring your guilt on an alleged crime and sending you straight to prison with a sentence without a lawyer, trial or the ability to plead your case. There is so much that is wrong on what happened here.
As Thomas Jefferson said, “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
First they took his guns, now the government wants firearms law protester’s house too
