Bill Blair didn’t waste any time.
A day after retiring from the Toronto Police force, Blair confirmed he plans to seek the Liberal nomination for the federal riding of Scarborough Southwest in this fall’s election.
Blair told the Sun he had several opportunities available to him but decided running federally for the Liberals was the best fit.
“I have had the opportunity to discuss various options and alternatives with people for whom I have a great respect, and I have decided to seek the federal nomination for the Liberal Party in Scarborough Southwest,” Blair said.
The former chief said he still wants to be involved in public service.
“I have had the privilege of serving the people of Toronto for nearly four decades, and having completed my term of office, I am seeking an opportunity to continue to serve in a new capacity.
