On Earth Day Say a Big ‘Thank You’ to Gaia For Fossil Fuels

This is Earth Day’s 45th anniversary and it’s also – according to Earth Day Network’s somewhat optimistic website – “the year in which world leaders finally pass a binding climate treaty” and “the year in which citizens and organizations divest from fossil fuels and put their money into renewable energy solutions.”

To which there is only one sensible answer and it consists of three words:

Ain’t. Gonna. Happen.

Green Party controlled council installs solar panels on the roof of Hove Town Hall – then the roof catches fire. I’m sure the townsfolk are appreciative.

      A Firefly reference. Love it.

        Thank you!

I hoped that between a Firefly reference and the ‘Gore’ reference, somebody would appreciate it…

The thing about environmentalists, (Mostly Mental) is that they are all about the Earth, but they have utter contempt for mankind.

All I can say is they all need to actually live in world without AC, 24 hr a day electricity, reliably running clean water, refrigeration, paved roads, and so on. I have and it’s not the romantic hippie wonderland they think it is. No one, not a single person in the history of the earth ever was helped or improved or saved by that. No one.

Renewable energy will only be economically viable when it is the only thing left.

The way I see it, it consts about 2-3 dollars/liter to make 92% ethanol.
If gas hits that price, ethanol will become competitive.
      The free market fixes everything.

And then it will cost a lot more for taco chips.

It costs ME about 2-3$/liter to make 92% ethanol.
          I like to drink it.

We had Earth Day yesterday in Newcastle: A cyclone knocked down lots of big trees and blacked out half the city.
