‘I was embarrassed’: Ben Affleck apologizes for demanding slave-owning relative be cut from PBS show about his ancestors

But PBS is now launching an investigation…

  • David Murrell

It is easy to see where all of this is going. Given that it is technologically easier for people to trace peoples’ ancestries, left-wingers will be tracing genealogies of famous people, to see if their ancestors had slaves. They then do a guilt-trip on them, as if these celebrities had done anything wrong. All of this is to push for reparations for present-day blacks. This is the agenda here.

Neb Affleck is acting the fool here, a dishonest fool. But he is pushing this agenda.

    • winniec

He’s overcome with white, post-colonial guilt. Nonsense.

What’s he going to do to atone…kill himself? That’s what the Leftards are promoting. It’s now a crime to be a white male.

      • I say we make Ben pay reparations!

        • Jabberwokk

Make him pay for all the government handouts…..I mean programs.

      • Islamonauseated

Maybe Ben can adopt eight impoverished black babies to compensate for his slave-owning ancestor? He can phone Angelina Jolie to arrange these adoptions quickly!

      • Surele Surele

Hey, maybe that’s the reason he wanted this fact hidden.

        • Surele Surele

that was meant to be in response to BCF post below.

    • Xavier

You’re right. They want us to be held responsible for the actions of our great-great-great-great grandfathers.

      • In Ben’s case I’ll happily make an exception;) He should be held personally responsible.

    • Given most celebrities are left wing is it really such a bad thing?

      • David Murrell

    • I read on the Internet that both Obama and his wife Michelle had slave-owning, if not slave trading, ancestors (Google it). So if the left want to make a case of this, they know where to start – in their own back yard’s chief cock.

  • winniec

Poor Ben. He’s overwhelmed by his emotions. He does not have a subtle mind. Like a lot of people, emotions are much stronger than reason. Our school system lets our society down by not teaching independent, critical thought.
Instead, they teach ’emotional thought’. Don’t think or say anything that might ‘hurt someone’. They need to teach students to search for truth, facts and logic!

  • Clink9

Don’t be so dramatic Ben. One of my ancestors admits to voting NDP years ago.

    • Islamonauseated

      NDP! Oh, the horror!

      • Clink9

We don’t talk about it much.

      • Clausewitz

Yeah same here. My Grandfather was in the Union at McDonnell Douglas and apparently all of the other “cool” kids were doing it. Eventually he came back to reality.

    • The Goat

May the disgrace fall upon you, your children, and your children’s children, for seven generations.

      • Clink9

        Witness my shame.

    • lolwut?

Don’t feel bad, I’ve slept with a few NDP voters.

      • Clink9

        They are useful idiots sometime.

        • lolwut?

Wait, what? are you sayin chicks who sleep with me are idiots? lol!

          • Clink9

I don’t know about all of them, but the NDP girls would be boneheads.

      • dance…dancetotheradio

I am appalled with your callous disregard for the consequences of your actions.
To think that there might be mini-lolwuts out there being raised by NDP mothers tantamount to child abuse on your part.
Maybe you believed Neil Young when he sang welfare mothers make better lovers.

    • dance…dancetotheradio

You’re my choice for winner of the internet today.

  • mauser 98

    Hollywood white guilt liberal

    • The Goat

      Sheep are such stupid animals.

  • Jabberwokk

    That’s gross! That’s Racist!

Sucks being on the receiving end eh Mr. Affleck?

  • Hard Little Machine

Obama thanked dictators for not blaming him for things America did when he was 6 months old. He didn’t have a problem with listening to them scream about all the things they screamed about, only that it didn’t stick to him. So this too. This has less to do with race and more to do with the liberal ethos of hating everything about the west in general.

  • The Goat

If I was an Ben Affleck ancestor, I’d be embarrassed of him.

  • Ron MacDonald

Had it not been for the Sony Hack we never have been able to prove he is a two-faced asshole.

    • J. C.

I thought his little meltdown on Bill Maher’s show a few months back would’ve been proof enough??? 😉

      • dance…dancetotheradio

        I’m not a Kremlinologist.

    • Always a silver lining.

  • Mohamsandwich

He is ashamed of his ancestor, but not ashamed to defend Islamism:

Who can forget the views of this idiot?

    D. Prager’s excellent article in the National Review on this subject from last October:

US Blacks should be praising the northbound slavers on every Thanksgiving day. Tough on their grand-grand-grand parents, that is true, but not as tough as actually living as slaves in Africa of the time (most of the population of africa were slaves to other blacks there) and they are now the richest goup of blacks on the planet (even the punks living in the gethoes) thanks to them.

  • simus1

Emperor Barry’s ancestors were slaveowners – on both sides.
Let’s see PBS do that “documentary”.
As for Affleck, did PBS try to find out how many of his ancestors were Copperheads?
    Not too likely.

  • Rosenmops

Luckily my ancestors were all poor white trash from Scotland and England. No slave owners, at least not in recorded history. Probably some slave owning Vikings though, if you went further back.

In Canada most people descended from slave owners are First Nations:

Slave-owning people of what became Canada were, for example, the fishing societies, such as the Yurok, that lived along the Pacific coast from Alaska to California.[3] Many of the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast, such as the Haida and Tlingit, were traditionally known as fierce warriors and slave-traders, raiding as far as California. Slavery was hereditary, the slaves being prisoners of war and their descendants were slaves.[4] Some tribes in British Columbia continued to segregate and ostracize the descendants of slaves as late as the 1970s.[5]

Among some Pacific Northwest tribes about a quarter of the population were slaves.[6][7] One slave narrative was composed by an Englishman, John R. Jewitt, who had been taken alive when his ship was captured in 1802; his memoir provides a detailed look at life as a slave, and asserts that a large number were held. </blockquote

Oops, better brush that under the carpet. Doesn't fit the approved narrative.

    • French and Irish here, I doubt we owned slaves;)

      • dance…dancetotheradio

        My wife is Metis.
I’ve often joked that it was a good thing the natives were here or else there would have been a lot of French speaking Bison still on the plains.

  • JoKeR

If Affleck isn’t embarrassed by Daredevil, how can he be embarrassed by anything?

    • dance…dancetotheradio

I’d already voted someone winner of the internet today.

  • He made the problem worse by hiding it instead of confronting it. If he had shrugged it off, as a normal adult would have, this would have blown over.

  • pdxnag

Embarrassed? The only remedy is that he and his kids and their kids, etc, must be slaves for all eternity. This is the cry of folks seeking social justice for any wrong committed by any white man at any time in the past anywhere (even if non-whites did the same or more, because there are more of them in the world).

How can he be a warrior for all that is good, when he discovers that it is his own head that he must thump? Nuances and qualifications are not allowed.

  • DVult

Stop plucking you’re damn eyebrows. You look like a fool.
