At least 33 killed in suicide bomb attack by Islamic State on bank in eastern Afghan city

Thirty-three people died with more than 100 injured after a suicide bomb attack in an Afghan city.

The attacker detonated an explosive-laden motorcycle next to military personnel and civilians gathered outside a bank in Jalalabad earlier today.

The group were waiting to receive their monthly salaries as crowds bustled around them in the busy commercial district.

Islamic State has since claimed responsibility for the deadly bombing, President Ghani said.
