UNC Muslims protest ‘Anti-Israel Jihad’ speech, say talk made them ‘feel unsafe’

Conservative firebrand David Horowitz reportedly said during a recent speech at the University of North Carolina that members of Muslim students associations have been linked with terrorism, prompting a massive backlash among Muslim students, who say his assertion is not only false but made them feel unsafe.

The uproar is so intense that throughout the week the hashtag #NotSafeUNC gained ground and a “Not Safe UNC” Tumblr page was created to chronicle alleged bias against Muslims at UNC and the region. The UNC College Republicans are also taking heat for inviting Horowitz to speak. In an email, College Republican Chairman Frank Pray said he is receiving a lot of hate mail.

Horowitz spoke Monday at the behest of the UNC College Republicans in a talk dubbed “The Anti-Israel Jihad.” During his speech, he commented that “the goal of SJP, the MSA and the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and Fatah, and Iran and Hezbollah is to kill the Jews, to push them into the sea,”according to the Daily Tar Heel campus newspaper.

A massive backlash among muslim students. So, this is news? What does NOT cause a muslim backlash anywhere in the world when islam is rightly shown to be an intolerant evil cult.

Islamists continually demonize the Jews, Christians and everyone else who is not a muslim AND attacks them. Murders them. And the muslims feel unsafe?

The current unrest throughout the world can be only attributed to one so called “religion”. And it ain’t the Buddhists.

    • But its mean to point out that Muslims just threw 12 Christians overboard into the Mediterranean!

      • Censored_often

Yeah, and expect numerous high ranking Catholic clergy to downplay this and other incidents since it will negatively impact “religious dialogue”.

      • chayisun

Read that. Problem is I’m not shocked. It’s like seeing and or reading about beheadings by members of the “religion of peace.” It is what they do. AND the pope, peace be unto him :-), wants all Christians to forgive these animals. Screw him, too.

This is the 3rd time Mr Horowitz has appeared at Chapel Hill. The first time he was barred from entry to the hall and things thrown at him. The second time, he was allowed to speak and the idiot liberal Jews of the local Hillel and the Muslim students staged a noisey walkout during his speech. This was the the third time. Mr Horowitz isn’t shy about going into the lion’s den as it were since UNC Chapel Hill is generally regarded as the Berkeley of the east. If Muslim students are ‘uneasy’ it’s because, like all other college liberals they feel threatened when their views are represented only 99% not 100%.

BTW Chapel Hill has a long history of intentionally excluding and hiding and dis-inviting campus Republican and conservative groups from campus events. The college often outright cancels events when ‘too many’ Republicans find out about them, then they rehost the event at a different venue off campus so that they can now exclude whomever they want.

Fascists do what fascists do. It is OUR JOB to hammer them down whenever they show their ugly, punchable faces. Check you local municipal council. These are the breeding grounds for fascists looking for political power. Don’t be surprised if the first ones you identify are women. It’s the context. You’ll find the same thing on school boards and among teachers. Unfortunately, every “wave” of Feminism nurtured fascism – over several generations. The social fallout we have already seen in skyrocketing divorce rates etc. The political ramifications of gender specific fascist indoctrination should not be a surprise to anyone.

      • Kathy Prendergast

Methinks you digress somewhat; this post is not about feminists or feminism. You sound just as misogynist as most Muslim men do….”Give women equality and the world goes to hell”, blah blah blah…

        • Justin St.Denis

When a “social movement” has been slime ted by a fascist ideology from the get-go, it is bound to have many, many “residual effects”. The glorification of the female fascist because she is female nonetheless glorifies the fascism she espouses. I know it might pinch your boobs a bit like a one-size-too-small cocktail dress, but the honest truth does tend to make people uncomfortable.

As for your accusations of misogyny – as trite and knee-jerk as they are – are also genuinely hilarious and more than a little sad.

I don’t feel your pain, and would remind you that the bed you make is the one you must lie in.

    • Hillel is getting crazier, I assume J-Street runs them now. Liberal North American Jews who have abandoned Israel are becoming the majority.

Oh well, nothin I can do about it.

That is not the case for Hillel at UBC (a very pro-Israel group) of which I am a supporter. They were very involved along with Federation and other groups in getting out the vote so that a BDS vote there could be defeated. Apparently, more NO votes were brought out than at any other campus BDS vote. In the end, the vote was defeated because the yes side did not get 8% of the student body supporting it. You can google the exact numbers. It was something like 2300 no, 3400 yes and 400 and some abstentions. But as the number of Muslims grows, you can be sure that one day they will get the numbers they need. And we all just watch helplessly as this and other sh*t related to “them” happens.

          Great news about UBC.

I wish the term “leftist” was used in place of “liberal” here… I understand that to a lot of Americans the two terms are synonymous, but they shouldn’t be, and Canadians at least should know better. Leftists follow the gospel of Marx, who was about as “liberal” as my cat is a vegetarian.

    • Kathy Prendergast

I can’t understand why a Jewish group like Hillel would ally themselves with Muslim students; their own members are targets of Jew-hating and Israel-hating Muslims and their useful-idiot leftist allies more often than not.

  • k1962

I think they protest too much. They are the ones who make others unsafe.

  • Kathy Prendergast

The truth has a way of making fascists feel “unsafe”.

A core tenet of the Islamic faith is hate for Jews and the call for their extermination. Thus it must be a good thing. And opposition to it a bad thing, even an evil thing. They pray five times day, reciting curses (at best) against Jews Christians and Infidels generally. The vigorousness and frequency of this chanting has addled their brains.

Have some whine with that pork chop, islamic murderers and perverts.

  • moraywatson

Why should muslims be protected from hearing the cold reality that their totalitarian ideology “sucks”?

  • roccolore

As usual, the Muslim Brotherhood Student Association and Hamas-linked CAIR whine.
