Cherson & Molschky: Islamic Terrorism: Why There Is None in Japan

Very few mosques in Japan. This is the largest: Tokyo Camii

In 2011, Sunni Muslims accounted for the greatest number of terrorist attacks and fatalities for the third year in a row. Over 5,700 incidents were committed by Sunni Muslims, responsible for nearly 56 percent of all attacks and about 70 percent of 12,533 fatalities.*

Another 24 percent of the fatalities are on Shi´a Muslims. So in 2011, Muslims were responsible for 94 percent of the fatalities in terrorist attacks. Since 2011, with ISIS on the scene, the number of the fatalities –victims of the Muslim terrorist attacks- sharply grew, together with Muslims´ share in the world terrorism that is steadily closing in on 100%…

…Seems there is not a single country where Muslims would not show their true colors… But no! There is such a country. It’s one of the most developed countries on Earth, and its democratic nature is recognized worldwide, a true ally of the USA and a member of NATO…

  • Drunk_by_Noon

“Maybe Europe and the USA should look at the Japanese model of dealing with Muslims more closely?”

As a society and both individually, we must do nothing less than withhold our approval for Islam.
    Reciprocity works.

    • FactsWillOut

No, we must not only withhold approval, we must voice and act with disapproval.

  • Oil and beef

And Canadian lefties call us racists! LOL. Asians and Russians are the worst.

    • Putting aside the “hermit kingdoms” of east Asia and the xenophobia of today, Asians are pretty darn adept at pre-emptive damage control in confined spaces. Imagine an attack like the one in Madrid or in London on bullet trains and the subways (consider Aum Shinrikyo).

Russians just plain don’t like non-Russians. That is their motivation to squelch anything that appears different.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

“Russians just plain don’t like non-Russians.”
True, to a degree, but it seems at times that they will hate fellow their Russians most of all.
        It’s a very complicated subject.

One thing that drives them nuts is the success of “the west” and how they can never quite seem to duplicate that success in Russia.
At a very fundamental level they do not REALLY grasp what makes the west tick, and so they will delve into the most vulgar excesses of imitation (with almost a cargo-cult mentality toward duplicating the edifices of western success) with almost no understanding of why things are the way they are, or how they came to be that way. The most they will admit to is that they are playing the “fake it until you make it” game, but they don’t know how to progress beyond the “fake it” stage.

I’m not saying they are stupid (far from it) but the very things that make them culturally “Russian” are the very same things that also introduce huge blind spots into their view of the world. They truly can’t picture any other way that the Russian way.

Instead of realizing that ‘rising tides lift all boats’, they will invariably follow the “cab pot” model. That is when one crab seems to be making it out of the pot, they will reach up and pull that crab back into the pot, even though that strategy does nothing for them, but harms someone else.

        • FactsWillOut

Still, on the long term, it seems to work better than our way.

          • Clink9

          • How?

Keep in mind, they punished their greatest minds (Solzhenitsyn, Shostakovich, Pasternak, ect).

          • FactsWillOut

In Russia, 0% corporate income tax, no gay pride BS, you can call someone a wog and not get busted, pat a pretty women at the bar on the behind like we could do until the 80’s.
What is it with folk? The west is on the decline, where it is now touted on the radio that 50% of women get sexually assaulted. Yes, here, a pat on the behind to the waitress in a bar is assault. In Russia and eastern Europe, if the broad is that pissed about it, you get slapped, but here, they run to the state and whine about it, call the cops, whine to the boss to get you kicked out, etc.
Most folk in the west are now a bunch of pussified primadonnas, who get uptight if you call them names, and wouldn’t dream of standing up for themselves physically.
Hell, I can’t even post the “N” word for fear that some freak will sue BCF.
Face it, the west is fucked, dead of terminal PC, and Russia lives on.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

Yeah, I tried using the sand n-word here once and it didn’t make it in.

          • Clink9

            Why stay here?

          • FactsWillOut

Because I cant speak Russian or read Cyrillic, and I have loved ones here.
Seems many play the old game of beating down others to make themselves look good.

          • I’m actually quite glad that it isn’t socially acceptable to grope strangers’ naughty bits in public anymore. Especially when said strangers are working for tips.

I’m not saying it should be treated as assault, but it is gross behaviour in both senses of the word.

          • Blacksmith

I have always admired a fine butt, but would never pat one without permission. I have in the past had the opportunity to assist in justice for a woman in a bar who was groped, she slapped the asshole and when he made as if to slap her back we removed him from the premises with a vengeance. This is the way that type of thing needs to be handled.
However it has become such a dangerous environment here to even compliment a woman. If they don’t want the attention then hide.

          • FactsWillOut

            That is how it’s done.
Oh, and a pat on the ass does not mean “grope”.
Myself, I’m more of the conversationally flirtatious type, but I’ve had broads twerk in my face, and when I slap their but, they got pissed and whined to the doorman.
Lucky for me, the doorman knew me.

          • El Martyachi

            automatic upvote for face-directed twerking.

          • El Martyachi

… I’d go one step further in that even if they DO want the attention, you’re at their mercy later if they change their mind for whatever reason. Maybe you say something she doesn’t like, or she doesn’t like the attention you’re giving someone else. Just not worth it. #SendThemOurGirls

          • FactsWillOut

            Socially acceptable versus illegal, toots.

          • Again, I’m saying it should not be considered legal assault. Civilized standards of behaviour should be the norm. This is not rocket surgery. Of course it’s not okay for some drunk jerk to paw a waitress’ ass.

And please don’t call me “toots”, shmoopie.

          • Please do move there and enjoy this fictional post-Soviet utopia.

            Oh, wait!

You can’t speak a syllable of Russian! How on Earth will you know if they are insulting the more queer or browner of the human race?

I guess you’ll just have to use hand signals.

          • FactsWillOut

Spare me your sanctimonious PC BS.
Go hang out with the brown queers.

          • See what I mean.

            You just step in it.

          • FactsWillOut

            You are a multi-culti fan, I see.

          • You’re ignorant, I see.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            She does have a point.
Being literate in Russian will be a big help.
Also, I’d say about 1/3 of what they are communicating to you will be non-verbal, and those gestures or facial movements will either be unknown (don’t really exist in the west), or wildly misinterpreted by you.
Is that screaming Russian about to help you (and doing so enthusiastically) or does he HATE you?
Sometimes hard to tell by just their words and tone alone, and they (on the surface) tend to look and sound alike.
It’s not intuitive and unless a local feels sorry for you and takes you aside and schools you, you won’t readily figure it out.

          • FactsWillOut

            Holy fuck.
So, they smile when they’re hurt, laugh when in pain, and bare and grind teeth to show affection.
            You are fucking unreal.
You not only try to put words in my mouth like “We should become like Russia, in ALL ways”, but now you spout typical propaganda BS.
I have a few Russian friends, and I trust them at my back, and have been proven right to do so.
At least they don’t go hiding under tables, like my so called “Canadian” friends. The Russians and the Brits, they can be counted on, and the Brits, not so much now.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I just think you have a unrealistically charitable idea of Russian culture in general.
Yes, Russians can be incredibly loyal, they also lined up to denounce each other during Stalinism.
            What’s that mean?

          • FactsWillOut

And the French got occupied and had collaborators.
All I am saying is that Russian culture is not infected with PC, like ours is, and that they are more similar to us than, say, the Africans, Chinese or Muslims.
Western culture is dead, in Ontario, we have a gay/child molesting cabal running things, in the USA, they have Obama, all over the west, we see signs of cultural suicide, but the only white folk not playing that game are the Russians.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

You are right in that it is not AT ALL PC and there is both good and bad in that.
If you have the time, I urge you to see for yourself.

Learn some Russian, make some Russian friends (looks like you are good there), and go over there and see what it’s like, but try to live like a local.
I find the place fascinating, and I’ll admit that I have a soft-spot for Russians myself, and many aspects of their culture are fascinating.
If you are single, grab a Russian GF too but don’t forget to make friends with her mom and dad as well. She can explain all sorts of stuff to you that you will never find in a book, and you will have a lot more fun. A good one will keep you out of trouble, and a bad one will start all the trouble herself.

          • FactsWillOut

I would like to visit the place, with my French GF.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            No, it absolutely does not.

You need to travel there and have a bunch of Russian friends, maybe even a few ‘sprightly’ Russian women in your life before the pattern of their collective insanity begins to show itself as an actual ordered method of thought.

Imagine a world were nothing works, and the best they can manage is to make it LOOK LIKE IT WORKS, or used to, before ‘the enemy de jour’ “broke it” out of malice towards the Russian people.

          • FactsWillOut

Last I heard, they have hot and cold running water, industry, electricity, and so on.
Look at what our way has done, we have sold our culture to the lowest bidder, they can distill booze and sell it, they can call folk names, you can’t get a drivers license there if you’re a LGBTQ or some other freak., and no licensing in any other language.
They protect their culture, while we seek to destroy our own, thus, when we are gone, they will remain.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Last I heard, they have hot and cold running water…”

You were never there during the Summer (usually the middle of June) when they shut OFF ALL HOT WATER to everyone (they don’t typically have individual hot water heaters) for maintenance, for a few weeks.
I could go on and on, but they have a culture that barely works.

          • FactsWillOut

            Oh I know.
By that comparison, you could say the Saudi culture “works”.
Whereas we here fall into conniptions at the slightest interruptions of our supply of hot water.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

What I’m getting at is the REASONS the hot water does not work.
It’s not just that one THING, it all the things that collectively must happen (through corruption or neglect) that lead up to and allow that one THING to happen.

          • FactsWillOut

Like the reasons the roads are full of potholes?

          • Drunk_by_Noon

In a way yes, but you don’t look for solutions to such problems to those that have an even worse pothole problem than you do.

          • FactsWillOut

Potholes and so forth are the least of our problems.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Yes, but it was your example and I was expanding upon it.

          • Alain

I up vote was thinking the comment was about Japan, not Russia here.

          • FactsWillOut

You can down vote me then.
Not like I’m not used to it.

        • What you said.

Yet there are Russians who can integrate and be innovators.

          • FactsWillOut

            That’s cause they ain’t wogs.

          • Your ignorance has been noted.

          • FactsWillOut

Get back to me when you know math or history.

          • I’ll just cut and paste your previous comment:

            “That’s cause they ain’t wogs.”

Say- you aren’t a paid Russian troll, are you?

Oh, no. The Russian language thing.

          • FactsWillOut

“Wog” is a British term, you idiot.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I just had to look up “wog”.
I have heard the word from time to time (on the internet), but I never knew what it really meant.

I’d say ethnic Russians are “white people” especially the ones from the North and West or Russia. Some of them look darned near Scandinavian. The Russian Slavs have a lot of Scandi in them and are a lot less “Slavic” (genetically) than some other Eastern Euro Slavs.
They love to argue among themselves which group is the most Slavic or true Slavs.
Bringing up the subject is a great way to die in a bar fight over there.

          • FactsWillOut

There are worse ways to die.
I have yelled out “Vive La Reine” on St. Jean Baptiste day in east Montreal.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            There ya go!
            Same concept.

          • FactsWillOut

I realize Russian culture has it’s flaws, but my point is it is not subverted by PC, that alone makes it better (and the fact that they’re not wogs).
A healthy nag is worth more than a terminally ill racehorse.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I see where you are coming from, and you do have a point.
I’ll just say that’s a very deep river you are admiring.

          • FactsWillOut

            I’m a pretty good swimmer. 😉

          • Just can it.

          • I was referring to your complete inability to speak the language of a country you so admire.

            (That’s Russian for idiot.)

          • Drunk_by_Noon

They CAN, sure, but almost like the movie “The Matrix”, only after they have freed their own minds. 🙂
One thing that they are absolutely brilliant at (especially in their unassimilated state) is that of their ability to subvert and manipulate (usually for personal gain) western ‘systems’.

          • FactsWillOut

Yeah, I always here about the Russians using the HRC’s etc, and all those Russians on welfare.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Their ability to do that is nothing short of genius.

          • FactsWillOut

Russians still have men, here men are illegal.

          • It has been done.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

It absolutely has been done; it’s just not an automatic process that is inevitable.
Some “get it”, but many never do.
What that ratio is, I have no idea.
I’d speculate about 2/3rds will assimilate, as long as they came over young enough, and depending upon how they were raised, and where they came from. Those from major cities will have a head-start.
The rest will assimilate, but only to a degree, and it’s a more slower and sometimes a painful process for them as well.
It’s not usually a completely ‘pleasant’ experience for any of them.
Likely the same for us if we were uprooted from here and plunked down there.

          • Assimilation (barring young age) is a matter of the will.

Innovation is not just intellect but the will to see it through.

Any Japanese or Russians (or anyone, perhaps) who have been able to do both are a different species.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

“Assimilation (barring young age) is a matter of the will.”

That’s MUCH of it, but it’s not all of it. Just about all of the ones over here desperately want to assimilate (while still keeping their “Russian soul” – get used to ‘contradictory thought’ with this crowd) but while our society might look like their society, it does not work like Russia’s and that causes them endless amounts of grief.

“Innovation is not just intellect but the will to see it through.”
Yeah, they have “will” (when they want to) unlike anyone else.

          • Russians tend to be incredibly jingoistic. Ironically, the things they can be proud of (ie- Pasternak) were verboten and exemplify what Russia could be if it was not so pig-headed.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

“Are you saying this because you are Russian, or because you are insane?”
            My favorite line.
Jingoistic, maybe, some I guess. They are still “high” from (‘single handedly’ some of them even might claim) the defeat of the Nazis.
What I love is their unending excuse-making for the failures of Russian anything.
            Oh man, that’s a treat!

          • The bigger they are, as is said.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

But they are not even that influential in the world outside of Russia.

I’m reposting a rant to a Russian (and usually a very smart one) when he called America an overrated Superpower (whatever that means).

Just how is America overrated as a superpower?
You sing our songs, write in our language on the Internet, eat our fast food, watch our movies and our television, use our internet on our computers, and smart phones that we designed.
There is nowhere on the planet, where our hand is unfelt.
Suicide bombers that denounce ‘the American Infidel’ are wearing New York Yankees hats and shirts that say Coca Cola.
Your pornography even imitates our pornography!

All of that combined with the fact that our military budget is more than the rest of the world’s combined, and that fuels a military that has a global and almost instantanious reach with conventional weapons, so tell me how we are overrated again?

The Romans had nothing on us, and yet you call us OVERRATED?

An American passport holder in 2015 can travel to 174 countries without a visa. No other country has a higher freedom of travel for its citizens.
Russian passport holders can only travel to about 100 countries while Chineese passport holders can travel to approximately 45 countries without a visa.
That tells me a lot about how “overrated” we are.

          • Spot on but I’m it went over his head.

        • Alain

Both the Russians and the Chinese suffered under communism, and other than a more free market than we have the Chinese still live under communism. My own observation has been that no matter what the Chinese are for the most part a pragmatic people with a strong sense of enterprise and business that the Russians for the most part do not have. I suspect it is cultural rather than genetic, but it is clear to see. Hong Kong is a prime example.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I think it’s absolutely cultural (difference between the west and Russia), but when it comes to petty capitalism, within the chest of every Russian beats the heart of Warren Buffet.
Russians have zero problem grasping every nuance of capitalism.

  • pettifog

Since when is Japan a member of NATO?

    • andycanuck

The author was probably thinking of the old SEATO alliance but actually meant the US-Japan Security Treaty.

  • Achmed

This is no “Islamic Terrorism” because Islam is The Religion of Peace.

  • From the article:

“And the most interesting thing in the Japanese approach to Muslims is
the fact that the Japanese do not feel any guilt for such a
“discriminatory” approach to Islam, and they evidently do not think they
should apologize to Muslims for the negative way in which they
    perceive their religion…”

That’s exactly what we should do.

And South Korea, if it knows what’s good for it:

  • The Goat

But, but, but…how can Japan be so strong with such little diversity?

    • Drunk_by_Noon

In the mind of your average lefty, they would answer that “Japan is very diverse, just look at how many Asians they have!”

      • Frau Katze

  • FactsWillOut

    Pure BS.
The Muslim population of Japan is .08%.
Let’s see how they do with 3% like us, or 10% like some of the Europeans.

It’s like saying a small town with 1 Muslim “knows how to deal” with Islam.

    • Actually I think that was kind of the point.

    • Alain

As long as Japan is Japan you will never see that.

  • Paulla

There’s no terrorism in Japan yet, because there are not a lot of muslims yet.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

Actually, they had LOTS of communist terrorism in the 1970’s-1980’s with the “Japanese Red Army”.

      • Alain

Yes, and they knew better how to deal with them than we do nowadays.

    • Alain

You aren’t going to see a lot of Muslims there either.

  • Ed

Still more muslims in Japan than Christians in Saudi
