Al Jazeera journalist awaiting trial in Egypt and holding a Canadian passport, Mohmed Fahmy signs book deal

Al-Jazeera English journalist Mohamed Fahmy, who remains in Egypt on bail while awaiting trial on terror charges, has signed a book deal.

Fahmy, a naturalized Canadian born in Egypt, and two other journalists were arrested in 2013 and charged with being part of a terrorist group and airing falsified footage intended to damage national security.

Al-Jazeera is based in Qatar, a main backer of ousted president Mohammed Morsi’s outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group…

…Fahmy has also criticized Canada for not doing enough to win his release…

He won’t make any money, only Lefties will purchase it.

Can they read anything longer than a protest sign?

  • ontario john

Gee, I’m shocked. I never expected a book deal coming. Next thing I know, I will be surprised to hear the cbc will be doing a major six part documentary on him.

    • David Murrell

The CBC will give him his own show!

          Don’t give them ideas.

Journalists think they can go wherever they like, film whatever they like, say whatever they like, because they are reporting “the truth”; and then when they get nicked they expect a special forces battalion to arrive to rescue them, and their countries diplomatic corps to drop everything to free them.
Hopefully two years in an Egyptian hell hole has wisened this idiot up.

    • Justin St.Denis

And made him feel more relaxed and comfortable with how “loose” Egyptians are with distinctions like “gay” and “straight” under prison circumstances.

Notice that Falmy gets a book deal with Random House Canada, a huge distributor which will guarantee a large book circulation. Conservative writers have to make do with small publishing outfits. Random House likes to support Muslim Brotherhood backers.

I smell another Maher Arar $400,000,000.00 lawsuit to extort about $15,000,000.00 tax-free settlement which helps build lots of Jihad traing camps in Canada.
Amazing how the story has changed that now makes him look guilty because the first reports where that he was a victim of being at a riot that broke out and got arrested with the others.
He used his Egyptian citizenship to get into the Country from Canada, but once in trouble he throw up his hands and suddenly is a Canadian Journalist.
Maher Arar fled canada for Tunisia to live with pro-hamas relatives of his Palestinian wife. He fled that nation when he was about to get raided by the Police and headed to the Airport for a flight to New York an leave his family behind.
The USA legally denied him entry at JFK and was forced back , but only Jordan would take him so he could meet his family to come back to canada. They didn’t show up in Jordan but bounty Hunters did and took Arar back to his homeland for a military trial as a draft-dodger.

Arar LIED about his torture as instructed in the Al-Qeada manual when caught before a jihad, he told the CBC in 2003 that he was held and abused in Jordan for two weeks, yet in 2005 he changed his story to claim the he was tortured in Syria and it was Canada’s fault.

Guess what, the Arar’s now want canada to help them travel to saudi Arabia for a ” vacation” with the kids.
No thanks , his last vacation cost us $12 million plus the inquiry that he never showed up at to prove his torture.

I don’t like Canadians of convenience.
I could conceivably acquire British citizenship due to my Mother being born there but I never will.
If I did though, and I got in trouble in England, I wouldn’t be making appeals to the Canadian government to save me.

      • El Martyachi

I’m in the same boat of eligible-but-not-exercised second citizenship. If Justin gets elected I’ll be exercising it.. just in case.

      • Justin St.Denis

You are eligible for a UK passport, not “citizenship”.

        • dance…dancetotheradio

No, I am eligible for citizenship.
When I was born the law was that the children of a British citizen were eligible for citizenship regardless of their place of birth.
Although the law has since changed the law that was in effect at the time determines my eligibility.

I think you are spot on…. Arar is filth, Fahmy is filth, and Al Jazeera/Qatar is filth. If Fahmy gets back here we better open our wallets…. oh and don’t let me forget another filthy POS is homosexual John Baird whose last official doing was to arrange the Fahmy deal.

      • Justin St.Denis

Arar was lying from the get-go, and some in government KNEW this and could do not say what they knew about it/Arar/Arar’s lies.

        • El Martyachi

I was told something similar by someone who runs in those circles. It seems to be an open secret.
