RCMP forced to shuffle cash, staff to meet terrorism duties, documents show

OTTAWA—The RCMP has been forced to shuffle more cash and officers into terrorism investigations as Ottawa’s contribution has remained static over the last decade, documents show.

The Mounties diverted $22.9 million from other operations to the Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams (INSETs) in 2013-14. The RCMP’s share of INSET funding has been steadily rising from $717,000 in 2003 to more than $20 million for each of the last three fiscal years.

Don’t worry, Ottawa has the situation well in hand – they’re importing more…

They keep bringing in more violent, backwards Muslim terrorists. Maybe it is some sort of make-work idea to keep police employed?

It’s a possibility. They won’t be out of work any time soon.

$20+ mil a year to babysit muslim terrorists seems a bit rich but probably doesn’t even come close to watching half of them. Perhaps a fed internment camp built to hold 1000 or so near the international airport at Iqaluit would be more cost effective and also act as a good deterrent. Could give local employment a boost as well.

Iqaluit residents don’t want them … either.

    • 20 million isn’t the half of it I am certain between between CSIS, the RCMP, CSE and local police efforts that the tab is several hundreds of millions.
