A wild Rose-ringed Parakeet in London?! What?

Apparently, that is not an uncommon thing…….

‘ The main British populations are based around London, primarily in the west and south-western suburbs. They can be regularly seen in places such as Crystal Palace Park, Battersea Park, Richmond Park, Greenwich Park and Hampstead Heath, as well as Surreyand Berkshire. A large population in the south-west of London, consisting of many thousands of birds, is known as the Kingston parakeets. The winter of 2006 saw three separate roosts of circa 6000 birds around London.’

One particular population of feral parakeets in London has their own Wikipedia page….

Since today was the first day of Passover, my musical selection is an excerpt from the Hallel prayer from the morning service (Psalms 113 to 118, with introductory and closing benedictions). Specifically, this is the last part of Psalm 115 and the first part of Psalm 116 sung here a capella by a small group of Israeli female soldiers at an impromptu outdoor service.
