Public sector costs crippling Ontario

“…all public sector workers in Ontario (provincial, federal and municipal) earn on average 11.5% more in salary than their counterparts in the private sector doing comparable jobs.

When it comes to non-salary benefits, the gap is even more startling.

For example, in 2013, 77.3% of all government workers in Ontario were covered by a registered pension plan compared to only 25.6% in the private sector.”

We desperately need someone to go all “Scott Walker” on Ontario!

    • I wish but the fact remains the Public Service Unions will put in power whoever supports their greed.

    • Chris

The so called public service unions (and their fellow union parasite companions) will never allow that. They have far too much money to use for advertising campaigns to convince the LIV’s that everything is just rosy and anyone other than the politicians who give them anything they demand will end up destroying everything that they have built to make life in the province the eden that it is.

      • moraywatson

Yup. But that was the same mentality that had to be taken down in Wisconsin.

Great graphic. The three-arrow-circle — around Wynne’s face — says it all.

    • Reader

      Actually the graphic is inaccurate.

It misses Wynne’s second face the one she shows to the public when she is lying through her teeth while smiling all the while.

      Show the real Two-faced Wynne!

The system will collapse, there is no other option. It’s simply a question of when. Critical mass has been reached and electing a responsible government is no longer possible. Just wait.

    • Petey

I fear it may be a very long long wait.

I do believe that human beings in general are past their best by date.

The unions will keep electing puppets until the province starts to resemble Detroit, even then it might not be possible to rescue what’s left, I think a north south split might happen with the resource rich north getting rid of progressive budget killing south,

    • Chris

You are absolutely right Ed. The only way things will change is when the inevitable bankruptcy happens. That is the only thing that will spur the LIV’s into action of any kind and I fear there will be blood in the streets, lots of it.

bond rating agencies will force Wynne to lay off.
tiny uptick of interest rates will force layoffs

As long as she screws the Brewers Retail union, I’ll be happy.

I’ve got a pro-capitalist, stock-investing, libertarian-esque friend who is a glorified order-taker for the BR but who is massively pro-union—as great a contradiction as that sounds. I don’t know if he voted Liberal this time but he was hinting he might have to over privatization and dislike of Hudak.

The convenient contract between the Union’s and the Ontario Liberals is the largest money laundering scam in Canada. Much larger than the Mafia and the drug cartels.
