Postal workers upset over having to deliver controversial newspaper

TORONTO – Toronto letter carriers are being threatened with discipline if they refuse to deliver a controversial newspaper that slams politicians from across the political spectrum with profanity, the postal workers union says.

Megan Whitfield, Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) Toronto local president, said a number of workers have raised objections to a newspaper Canada Post has been paid to distribute in the Beaches-East York area.

Your Ward News, produced as a community flyer by the New Constitution Party of Canada, slams a number of municipal, provincial and federal politicians by using profanity in some instances and calls former prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau a “Neo-Nazi fascist, anti-Semite and Quebec separatist.

Wow that Party is somethin else!

  • So postal workers get to make a value judgement on the mail they carry?

Who gets to set the standard?

    • I agree, it’s a silly bit of lefty whining.

Muslims do when it comes to dogs, liquor and infidels

When I was a postal courier I have to admit I sometimes has second thoughts about delivering porn, marijuanna, amazon or HSC or ebay to welfare recipients living in Toronto housing. But I did anyways, and always completed my tours to a T.

In Ottawa postal workers don’t handle community papers they have kids do it they get paid a bit of money my point is why does Toronto not do this.

    • AmicusC

because it makes to much sense and Toronto doesn’t do anything that makes sense.

      • Surele Surele

        oooh, that hurt.

Fine. Send it by email. One less thing for the postal workers to carry. When they’re finally carrying nothing, they can receive their notice of layoff with good grace, smug in the knowledge they showed the man.

  • CaligulaJones

They shouldn’t be allowed to pick and choose what they deliver, that’s for sure.

But seriously: this guy is has mental issues, and probably shouldn’t be encouraged.

I mean, “the enemy of my enemy” argument only goes so far…

  • Clausewitz

Why are these social misfits reading my mail????

  • Frau Katze

    Definitely a strange party.

I am both the founder and leader of The New Constitution Party of Canada. I created the party’s concept, working platform and logo. All future policy decisions will be made by me, in consultation with my shadow cabinet and the Inner Circle of the Founding Elders. I am NOT being directed by ZioMarxist “handlers”, therefore I am the ONLY major party leader who thinks for himself.

    • CaligulaJones

I think we can judge the man by his logo design: he took Japan’s rising sun, and added an inukshuk. Brilliant!

    • Clausewitz

      Sounds legit.

    • Surele Surele

When he says ‘major party leader’ does he mean major party (he?!) or major leader. Let’s hope he is the only party member.

I’ll have to do more research of his platform, but I kinda like this…
“You have the right to live in a demographically stable society that is not eroded by excessive immigration, or by immigration of people from countries which do not share our values. Immigration laws will favour people from countries with similar language, culture, and values as us. The government will strictly enforce borders and hear immigration cases rapidly, deporting those who are rejected, in an expeditious manner.”

postal workers are paid to deliver the mail, not read it.

I suggest that they should be fired for cause for tampering with the mail

  • Surele Surele

CUPW, guardians of our morality. Just deliver the mail already, whatever is left of it. They should be happy they have something to deliver. And still we get the wrong mail delivered. Obviously, instead of reading the address they try to censor the contents.

  • moraywatson

Well I’m sure we can find some other cost effective way to deliver ALL of the mail. That would solve the postal workers’ grievance.

  • moraywatson

Do I have to bake a wedding cake for a gay muslim?

  • Gary

Oh , but it was ok for CUPW to support Maher Arar in his bogus $400 million lawfare suit against canada from alleged torture he never proved, or that CUPW now supports Omar Khadr and the Pro-hamas groups that have CUPE and CUPW flags among the marchers .

What happens when a Muslim won’t diliver mail to a jewish home or temple.
How about a gay employee refusing to deliver mail to any Religious building because it might not support abortion or same-gender marriage.

We are suppose to have an Obesity crisis , yet the Postie’s keeps giving me flyers for Pizza stores and fast food coupons for fried items or high sugar snacks.
    Just deliver the mail.

Postal Union based red fascists tend to be easily offended and made ill coping with opinions in print outside their comfort zones. Good thing they have ample sick leave and other perks.
