Muslim 101: A cultural whitewash by the CBC

This interview is pathetic even by CBC Standards, not one “hard question” asked.

“Muslim Canadians are in the news a lot lately and that’s got a lot of people asking questions.

It all started with Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s remarks that the Muslim culture is “anti-women”, and that the veiled covering, the niqab, should not be worn at citizenship ceremonies.

Since then, people have been weighing in with their thoughts and questions about being Muslim. As a result, CBC Information Radio host Marcy Markusa fielded those calls and comments and put them to some members of Winnipeg’s Muslim community.”

Why didn’t they ask the Muslims if they believed that apostates and homosexuals should be put to death as codified under Sharia law?

Funny how questions like that never get asked… Just what is the CBC selling?

All my leftoid/feminazi friends on facebook are foaming at the mouth defending the niqab and condemning Harper as a filthy racist.

There’s got to be some sort of special prize for accomplishing that.

    • eMan14

That’s the game plan. When you don’t have an argument, call the other person a bigot and racist.

      • Hell yes I got called a racist at the Post last week for not speaking ill of the Ahmadiyya – I’m not kidding.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

          Oh yeah!
Only a mainline Muslim (Shia or Sunni) would have made that accusation.
It seems ALL of Islam can unite behind hating the Ahmadiyya.

          I found this in Wikipedia:
“In a 2005 survey in Pakistan, pupils in private schools of Pakistan expressed their opinions on religious tolerance in the country. The figures assembled in the study reflect that even in the educated classes of Pakistan, Ahmadis are considered to be the least deserving minority in terms of equal opportunities and civil rights. In the same study, the teachers in these elite schools showed an even lower amount of tolerance towards Ahmadis than their pupils.”

          WTF?

I got banned from a blog for saying we must protect Canadian culture.

Is a great blowjob at the end of the Islamic tunnel? (sorry, just had to ask)

  • Observer

It is time to end the $1 Billion a year in public funding for the Communist Broadcasting Corpse.

  • dance…dancetotheradio

I’m surprised they haven’t whitewashed the comments yet.

    • Me too, the moderator must be in the can.

      • Observer

After they spent all that money bringing them into Canada after hiring them from Pravda.

      • Yusuf_Al_Kafir

It’s too bad that the CBC page need to be refreshed to see new comments, because I know that at some point when I refresh the page the cowardly CBC moderators will have deleted all dissenting comments.

      • David Murrell

        The moderator might get fired!

  • eMan14

From the company that brought us the deplorable Little Mosque on the Prairie. Defending Islam is in their blood. What Canadian’s believe is of no importance.

    • The CBC certainly doesn’t share values with Canadians they make up their own and shove them down your throat.

      • Observer

Maybe their next “Canadian content” series will be called “Welcome Back, Khadr”?

        • eMan14

Sadly you are probably right. With Justin as the head drama teacher.

          • Observer

            Your cisgender bias is showing.

Justin will be the drama queen! We must have at least gay teacher in the series.

          • Observer

That should have read, “We must have at least ONE gay teacher in the series.”

          • dance…dancetotheradio

Beats seeing him in the House of Commons.

          • Censored_often

He probably is running the LGBTWQUASDhDJGALSDTJNG club at school right now.

          • Censored_often

Extra tidbit: I’m terribly confused what is beyond a boy or girl. Please help me!!!

        • Don’t put it past them.

  • Is Islam oppressive to women?

Rahman: I think the sources of our information are of course, the Qur’an and the Prophetic traditions. In the Qur’an, we know that men and women were created from a single soul and in the prophetic traditions or what Prophet Muhammad told us, men and women are twin halves of each other. So this indicates that we are spiritually and intellectually equal in every respect. And really, from Islam, Islamically, women have always had the right to vote, the right to inherit, the right to divorce or the right to consent to a marriage that they want, the right to own property, to work. And men and women have not only the right, but the duty, to educate themselves. So anything outside of that, when women are being prevented from being educated, from voting, from entering the workplace, these are outside the Islamic principles.

Notice how nobody said “and which elections were they voting in exactly?”

    • The CBC can only be described as negligent, this interview was not journalism, it was propaganda.

      • Observer

A loft of the CBC “news” is propaganda.

They have learned much from Pravda.

  • eMan14

Islam has to be the most misunderstood “Religion” in the world. Not only by outsiders, but by those who profess to follow Islam.

  • Yusuf_Al_Kafir

Pardon my language, but, fuck the ‘journalists’ at the CBC.

Forget ‘softball questions’; that interview was more like tee-ball.

Of all of the commenters giving it to the CBC, ‘Jive Turkey’ says it best…..

‘CBC please stop forcing this upon us.’

  • David Murrell

First off, the entire CBC corporation opposes Stephen Harper, and of that huge entity, CBC Radio is the most left-leaning of the lot. CBC Radio would NEVER put a critic-of-Islam on, and ask question to that person. Second, CBC is on record in soft-selling the menace of Islam. It produced the notorious “Little House on the Prairie”. It had the notorious Jew-baiter Tony Burman as head of CBC News, whereby he went to the anti-Semitic Al Jeezera after his tenure at CBC News. CBC still employs Neil Macdonald, a vitriolic anti-American and anti-Semite.

So it is not surprising that CBC Radio would support Islamism and the Niqab. Both oppose Western values, much like the CBC does.
