Can Americans Understand Israel’s Vote?

Read accounts of Israel’s elections in the mainstream liberal media today and you get a sense of the frustration and anger the Obama administration and its press cheering section feel about Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decisive victory. The fulminations in today’s New York Times editorialarticulate this point of view with its denunciations of Netanyahu’s repudiation of a Palestinian state as well as dark warnings about the implications of his comments about Israeli voters needing to offset the impact of Arabs voting for anti-Zionist parties. But even if we leave aside the ad hominem attacks on Netanyahu in which he was denounced as both “craven” and a “demagogue,” the point of the piece was to essentially delegitimize the results. The question remains whether most Americans, including Jewish friends of Israel, will be as clueless as the Times about the reason for Netanyahu’s big win.

What’s to understand? The left-wing media and the Obama administration will throw Israel under the bus.

Mark Levin explains how President Obama is betraying Israel

    • Not only the media and Obama, many left wing diaspora Jews will also throw Israel under the bus.

I am not hopeful for Israel in the sense that I believe the leftists will be the majority North American and European opinion eventually.

  • Hard Little Machine

Obama wanted Israel to elect……Obama. That’s truly why he’s insanely unhinged about this.

  • David Murrell

“…the Obama administration and its press cheering section…”.

Love that phrase, from the posted link above. It says a lot. The reason why the anti-democracy liberals are upset is that Israel voted for their own self-interests (survival as a Jewish state against the “final solution”-interests of the Iranian dictatorship). Obama and his media bootlickers care not one whit for Israel as a Jewish state. They only care for Obama to have a “legacy accomplishment”, as if that were ever possible.

Funny, but after Netanyahu’s election victory it seemed to me that the planet began to heal, and that the oceans began to subside. No wonder Obama is pissed off.

Don’t you love it how voters are consistently messing up the predictions of pollsters.

    • zee

It’s especially gratifying when it happens in Israel

    • It is fact, polls have become crap shoots, at best they may indicate trends.

      • Waffle

Sorry, I disagree. People are wise to the pollsters and out of spite will try to f**k them up. There are too many people out there who have toiled in intolerable circumstances for no recognition and for minimum wage. Respondents are also sick and tired of rude interviewers who can barely speak Hinglish.

The left is getting apoplectic. It does look good on them. Let’s get them even more reason to stay that way.

I am sure the average American understands why Israelis voted the way they do, with their Palestinian “peace partners” indoctrinating children in hate, jihad and fake history, and supporting and inciting terrorism/murder.

It is the media, the pundits and the political elites who don’t understand.

    • They understand, fully, completely. They just refuse to report it.

  • Raymond Hietapakka

Obama’s a jealous pussy. He knows he just conned Americans to get elected. Too bad it was a black guy who’s turned out to be America’s Worst President Ever. A discredit to his race.

  • David Murrell

I good example of how the left-wing media are crying tears, is this rant from the CBC News web page:

Read some of the “most liked” “comments” beneath this article. A heavy dose of Jew-hating here, from the CBC audience. The Jew-hatred gets fairly ripe.

Every opinion poll in the past year or so has shown American support for Israel to be the highest it’s ever been. Americans understand that the media is biased and that agenda-driven polls lie.
