Expert Cites Toronto Star’s Misleading Headline As Bigger Threat Than Muslim Terrorism

OK, expert blogger BCF here, today the Star ran this lie, CSIS highlights white supremacist threat ahead of radical Islam

The article in fact goes on to discuss so called “Lone-Wolf” attacks specifically rather than the overall threat of Muslim terrorism.

“OTTAWA—“Lone wolf” attacks more often come from white supremacists and extreme right-wing ideologies than from Islamic radicalism, internal CSIS documents say.

Citing recent academic research, the unclassified documents note extreme right-wing and white supremacist ideology has been the “main ideological source” for 17 per cent of so-called lone wolf attacks worldwide.

Islamic extremism accounted for 15 per cent of such attacks, the document noted, while left-wing extremism and “black power” groups followed with 13 per cent. Anti-abortion activism (8 per cent) and nationalism/separatism (7 per cent) rounded out the list, while in 40 per cent of cases there was no clear ideological motivation.

I guess we should ask CSIS and the RCMP what percentage of resources they have devoted specifically to countering Muslim Terrorism versus Basement Nazis. Especially in light of their recent pleas for more resources to handle the burgeoning Muslim terrorist threat caseload:

The RCMP has doubled the number of Mounties on counter-terrorism investigations, with 130 of those officers hunting for possible suspects who may have aided Michael Zehaf-Bibeau’s murderous rampage, RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson told parliamentarians Friday.

In response to what Paulson said is a steadily rising threat of terrorism on Canadian soil, 600 officers and staff are now assigned to counter-terrorism operations, an increase of 300 positions since October.

“I’ve not seen a tempo and pace of (counter-terrorism) operations like this. It is an unprecedented alignment of our resources,” he told the committee.

And no, those 600 officers aren’t there watching Basement Nazis. This is typical of the agenda driven media, distort the facts to support a narrative at any cost.

The article is worthy of Iran’s Press TV, not what passes for an alleged mainstream news organization in Canada.

It sounds very misleading, an exercise in ‘selective data’. Most jihad attacks are not entirely self-directed, but some are. So what? In the hadiths and Sira, a number of individual, self-directed jihads occur. They are mostly in the nature of individual assassinations of someone who displeased Mohammed or expressed verbal criticism of his amorality. Mohammed never disapproved of murdering his critics.

    • It;s entirely selective, and I wonder how long they have reached back over the years for their “white supremacist” data versus the relatively new phenomenon of Islamic lone wolf attacks.

The “Big Lie” media cabal continues its anti-Harper theme with Mallick calling Harper a racist Saturday and today Haroooooon calls Harper a fascist. Oh, and Haroooon says we should be more worried about all those Christian and Jewish terrorists that are rampaging around the world including those anti-abortionists. Notice a common theme at the Star and the other media??

    • It is among the most dishonest pieces I have ever seen the Star publish.

      • ontario john

In the media’s warped way of thinking if you are pro life then you are a terrorist.

This is the progressive mind set . I am sure that should PET deux be elected, his government would use bent statistics like these to crack down on sites like this one, in the name of fighting islamonausea.

    • I expect a knock at the door regardless of who is in power. Especially in light of Bill C-51’s expected passage.

What white supremacists? Europeans dealt with that sort at the Nuremberg Trials!
Time to drop off the ‘post-colonial guilt’ trip after 60 years.

The Toronto Star (and Crescent) continue to play their role as Mo apologists. Their chief Mo apologist Buffoon Siddiqui wrote today that “” Several Christian, Jewish, Hindu and other practices, right here in Canada, are anti-women.”

Funny, I have yet to see anything in Judaism that says it’s OK to beat my wife or perform genital modification on females.

” …in 40 per cent of cases there was no clear ideological motivation …”
That’ll be the cases where they shouted Allahu Akbar.

  • Multiculturalism has its unfortunate spin offs. The most obvious is its believers inability to deal with facts.

Here is one. 25,324 Muslim terror attack since 9/11.

    Multiculturalists – your list please.

‘Zehaf-Bibeau claimed his actions were in retaliation for Canada’s combat missions in Afghanistan and, more recently, Iraq.’

Even when TOLD in the terrorist’s own words WHY he is attacking the media casts aside his own words in order to keep THEIR narrative going.

Talk about a bunch of under-handed, deceptive, pieces of shit.
