Is Feminism Destroying Women?

According to a New York-based psychiatrist, at least one of every four women in America is now on psychiatric medication, as opposed to one of every seven men. Dr. Julie Holland says this is nothing less than “insane.”

Not only are we not living as well as our parents, we are not as “happy” as they were either.
    Progress!

    • Yup, we can thank the left for that;)

      • Drunk_by_Noon

But hey, we all have smart appliances!

Somehow the advancements in consumer appliance technology are getting figured into the CPI to mask actual inflation rates and wage stagnation.

Microwaving TV dinners in a rented apartment while working a $10 an hour job but having a 55″ smart TV makes up for the fact that we will never own homes, afford to have children, or even fully repay our student debts.
Life is getting better all the time!

        • Blacksmith

          “afford to have children”
That is because you are going about it wrong, if you want to have children in the modern age you have the govt (taxpayer) pay for them.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

If they pay for them, then the state gets a say in how they are raised.
I already had my kids, but I fear if I had to do it all over again I could not.

          • Blacksmith

I knew what you meant, just pissing and moaning some I guess.

        • Exile1981

Somewhere I have a whole series of articles I wrote on how the CPI is calculated and what items they have switched out for what cheaper but equivalent items.

You are correct in that they have skewed it a lot. The CPI used to be heavily weighted towards food and home ownership. Now it is more weighted towards consumer goods and it’ not apples to apples. I remember the year the I phone 4(?) came out and they said well we used to use the I-Phone 3 in the calcs but now that the i-phone 4 is out we will still use the three because even though it’s not the benchmark it’s dropped because no one wants one so it should cell phones had a huge drop that year.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I’d like to read what you wrote on that.
            Is it on the internet?
If so, can you post a link?

          • Exile1981

I think I remember what site it was on. I’ll see if I can find it.

Edit #1: Found a long series of comments on how they are fixing the employment #’s and what it should be, assuming they were not cooking them, based on the BLS published numbers. It’s not the one on the CPI but it’s another of my long number crunching posts. Back when I had a bit more spare time. http://www.thesurvivalistblog.net/unemployment-59-federal-figures/

I’ll keep looking for the CPI one.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            Please!
If you could find the CPI info…
            Thank you.
I suspect that we have had very consistant “stealth inflation” for the better part of 50-years that has been papered over.

          • Exile1981

It was back in 2009 or 10 and some of the sites I used to post too are no longer in existence.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

This is all your fault! 😉

If you find any that are still up it would be great.
I saw what you wrote on the unemployment numbers and it was good stuff!

          • Exile1981

I used to post to a conspiracy site too. I’ll be honest at first it was me trying to explain facts to them and help them get over there delusions but after a while I realized the vast majority of them where deeply anti-semetic and far left wing and no matter how many facts I spelled out and how much evidence I brought to the table it would never be enough to make them get over their delusions. I mostly tried to explain political facts (right when obama was running for dictator… I mean president the first time) and engineering.

Eventually I gave up and moved to political debate, less truly

            unhinged people.

I did do an analysis last year of “oil and gas” subsidies that repudiates the UN’s claim about the “unfairness” of gas prices around the world. I can give you a link to that one.

          • Exile1981

The one political site I used to post too went belly up after the owner read a book and suddenly decided that said book gave the reason for every political issues in the world. This would have been 2008 and he read Elders of Zion and decided it was real and that Jews were the root of all evil but given his hispanic background closing borders was a racist suggestion.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Mexican Nazis will do it to you every time! 🙂

        • That’s the bigger problem, an economic rest is in order painful as that will be. I blame Woodrow Wilson.

  • robins111

It may be just me, but I don’t think the lady in the picture needs a sandwich.

    • She needs a Big Sandwich.

      • olddog

        That’s one ButtFUGLY..uh..uh..Whatever thingy…

    • WalterBannon

she needs a few months on bread and water with about 10 clicks a day on a treadmill

    • mobuyus

I’m pretty sure that’s no Lady.

  • wallyj180

And if the whole turkey isn’t in there, don’t you be calling it a turkey sandwich.

  • john700

No, I would say feminism is destroying men and women, the whole society.

  • wallyj180

Table 4: Injury claims, occupational fatalities and employment by gender, Alberta 2013
Gender Occupational fatalities % of occupational fatalities
    Men 177 94.1%
    Women 11 5.9%

    What do we want ?
    Equality.
When do we want it ?
    Now.
I hear you sista. I want it too.

  • Blacksmith

Too late for the sammich she ate the fridge…..

  • G

“No, you make me a sandwich”

Well, it’s an unusual request but ok.

Just one question. Where I find a slice of bread big enough for you to lay on?

  • FactsWillOut

    1/4 and 1/7???
    Soon it’ll be mandatory.

    THX 1138 or Equilibrium.

    • Exile1981

Back in 2008 or 9 the Japanese where discussing putting a” mood stabilizer” in the drinking water. It was being reviewed by their health department but I have never seen anything about it since then.

  • lolwut?

I hope this chick is BANNED from the Windsor Public Library

    • Frau Katze

      What “chick”?

      • lolwut?

ok, the thing holding the sign

        • Frau Katze

She’s pretty weird all right, but take the time to read the article too.

    • tom_billesley

My library is safe. Ther isn’t the space between the book stacks.

  • Frau Katze

I don’t agree with the tone of the article ranting about “drug companies”. Some of these drugs have made huge differences in people’s lives (both male and female).

    • It’s a bit over the top as it discounts the good they have done.

  • DVult

I guess breakfast, lunch and supper is out of the question then? I predict spinsterhood.

  • When you create a paranoid culture where everyone is a potential victim of nothing, then, yes, it will destroy people.

Fatty in the picture needs to lay off of the sandwiches.

  • tom_billesley

Is it just the result of women visiting their doctor more frequently than men do?

  • Maple Curtain

I doubt anyone, man or woman, would have the energy or efficiency to make enough sandwiches, fast enough, for that beast in the photo.
