Canadian soldier killed in Friendly Fire incident

A Canadian soldier was killed Friday in Iraq in what the defence department described as a friendly fire incident when  members of a special operations team were mistakenly engaged by Iraqi Kurdish forces while returning to an observation post behind front lines.

The victim was identified as Sgt. Andrew Joseph Doiron, from the Canadian Special Operations Regiment, based at Garrison Petawawa, north of Ottawa.

  • There’s never a church big enough in Renfrew County for one of these funerals.

Finally, the press has their dead Canadian soldier to write about.
He was shot by an Iraqi Kurd, but, all of the blame for his death will land at PM Harper’s feet.

The Toronto Star did previously refer to Mohammed Mohamud Mohammed aka ‘Mo-3’ of Hamilton, and fighting alongside ISIS, as ‘…a Canadian casualty in the fight against the Islamic State.’

Haroon must have written that paragraph.

And in Haroon’s defence, he only makes those kinds of errors when he’s been drinking especially heavily!

I pray for Sgt. Doiron’s family.
