Bizarro pic: Fairy doors

Quality control has had to be brought in at Wayford Woods, Crewkerne, Somerset, to curb the profusion of elfin construction. Hundreds of fairy doors have been attached to the bases of trees.

It is claimed the doors have been installed by local people so children can leave messages for the fairies. Picture: Apex

Thanks for the links. They’ve got a serious fairy problem, by the sounds of it.

Not as bad as san fran but still pretty bad what with some of the homes being more like shanties than proper homes. The spacing doesn’t meet code. I suspect that the homes do not have secondary entrances for fire egress. Talk about poor construction – sarc

It looks like the locals have been having fun and that the forest preservation people are putting a stop to it but at least they are doing it by playing along.

You know, “cute” can kinda make you sick! I remember Pet Rocks, Cabbage Patch dolls, mini-troll dolls etc. Some trends are designed to nauseate the educated palette, I swear. This is one of them. DIE, Trend, DIE! And soon, please. Thank you kindly.

I am surprised they didn’t bring in the SWAT team. I well recall as a kid how we used to build wee houses for fairies. No harm was done.
